Kake Temptations — Restaurant in England

First time I went to this cafe even though it's been around for some time. There's a few cafes on London road and I've been meaning to try this place for some time...

I wasn't disappointed! The interior decor is really nice and makes for a lovely ambient feel. They have a great selection of hot drinks and whole plethora of baked cakes and pastries and other desserts on offer. The cakes in the cafe are all baked fresh in-house.

They also do savory did items like pastries and sandwiches. On my visit I got a cappuccino as well as a slice of the red velvet cake and an original milk cake.

The red velvet cake slice was humongous! Ended up taking that home and instead had the gorgeous milk cake which I highly recommend.

The coffee was great!

Seating was a mix of comfy low chairs and the more traditional regular chairs.

The other thing to mention is the server was really friendly and nailed the customer focus aspect. So kudos to Kake temptations for hiring a lovely person that added to the whole experience. I believe the experience starts with the people you interact with.

I'll definitely be back again!

I visited Kake Temptations with my family yesterday and had a disappointing experience. The lack of a physical menu forced me to use a QR code, but with no phone signal inside, I had to step out for a menu. Suggesting a laminated menu at the counter could improve this issue. Moreover, despite ordering a toastie, it was forgotten, and they started preparing it only when we were ready to leave. The customer service was subpar, and I had to settle for takeaway. Although the food was good, the overall experience leaves me hesitant to return.

It was my first time at Kake temptations and I was really looking forward to it as I’ve been following their Instagram page for some time now. I must say I was disappointed. The customer service was horrible, super cold and felt like the transaction was waiting to be made. I mentioned it was my first time in a super exciting tone but nothing was explained about what cakes were their most popular or what they recommend. When I asked about the deal of buy one get one free, they pointed to a bunch of slices, prepackaged and when asked how old they were, they were bothered by this question and corrected me to mentioned they were bakes the night before and it was too Many cakes bakes so they had to sell the slices. Overall, I expected much more. The ambiance wasn’t as exciting and cozy as I thought it would be and the overall experience was cold and transaction like. Also, the chocolate syrup was completely drenched in the cake and I was instructed to heat it at home, which I mentioned I don’t own a microwave. I would have preferred having the chocolate syrup in a separate container and I spread it on my own at home as I came home to a completely drenched soggy cake! Visited this week with a friend. It was an evening visit but it felt more like closing time although it was nowhere near close of business..

This is classed as a boutique cafe, at least that is what's assumed by the decor when you enter..

The cake displays looked uninspiring, uninviting, and empty. Like I said, it looked like the cafe was closing but it was only 7pm with still 3hours of trade.

I've not been there for about two years but I remember the staff being alot more friendly.. this member of staff did not greet us, no smile.. looked more interested in her colleague than serving us and when I enquires about what was in the cookie monster cake.. her reply wasn't very informative.

There were also some cake slices on offer.. when these were offered, it was more of an after thought. We had to wait a while considering we only ordered cakes and two drinks. Our food was just place with no conversation and as we left, I'm usually used to being asked if everything was OK.. there was no acknowledgement or conversation.

I usually return to a place because of the food, but in my opinion, in a place like that service is key. It wouldn't be the service that I would be returning for..
