I had originally gave this place five stars as the food was nice and so was the decor, but we had a slight issue with something, asked a member of staff to sort it and had to wait fourty minutes for a sandwich to come back out, which on a quiet day I do feel is unjust. the manager was very helpful and tired to rectify the situation further but unfortunately the damage was already done, and the meal was fairly ruined.

Visited for afternoon tea. Was very quiet but nice surroundings perfect for what we wanted.

Used our Groupon voucher last night we were given at Xmas. We were sat down by the Maitre Di and asked if we would like a menu? ...eerr....no, we'll just guess what's on it! The lad then walked off to get them and never brought them. A girl then came over and realised we didnt have menu's so brought them to us. I explained that we had a Groupon voucher so our menu was a smaller choice than rhe a la carte menu. No one asked if we'd like a drink as we chose our food so we sat for 15 mins without a drink as the only two staff on were rushed clearing tables, serving at the bar and serving food. Eventually the lad came over to take our order and drinks.....no problem....10 mins later, the girl came to the table and said there was no chicken and chorizo bruchette starter left, it was only 8pm, not like we waltzed in as the restaurant was closing...so i chose the salt and pepper calamari instead. We wanted to share the two starters but there was nothing else my girlfriend liked...so the girl apologised and offered me a free pint....happy with that, fair enough.

Food came, it was delicious. The ham hock terrine with picalilli mayo was superb and my calamari were both lovely, mains were also lovely, i had the slow cooked shin beef with red onion and potato rosti and red wine jus....it was delicious. Girlfriend had the roast pork which was also very tender and delicious.....no complaints at all, we both commented on how much we enjoyed our food. Time for pudding!...We had spotted the sticky toffee cheesecake and hazelnut creme brulee on the desserts menu and we were so looking forward to them.....but when we came to order we were told that BOTH were no longer availible...gutted!....bearing in mind it's only 8:45pm by now! My girlfriend ordered the sticky toffee pudding and i had the chocolate fondant. Now, sticky toffee pudding should be hot....it came stone cold and the ice cream was clearly a cheap nasty powdery vanilla flavour, not the really nice vanilla pod flavour....like the stuff you'd get for a pound in Iceland for a kids party! We both said it was awful. My chocolate fondant was lovely but again the ice cream wasn't nice...it was dark green and a weird flavour....not the nice pistachio you get....it had a strong liquorice flavour to it...yuk!....i hate liquorice! As we sat eating dessert, the waiter comes and serves the starters to the table next to us who'd walked in and i heard him say 'chicken bruchette?' guess what?.....the guy at the next table was only seved the chicken and chorizo bruchette!.....the one that i couldn't have as it was no longer available as they'd run out!! Wow!....it had miraculously appeared again on the table next to me!

So, overall, the food we had (apart from the ice cream) was lovely, service was 5/10, menu choice 5/10...a bit limited, food quality 8/10....would have been a 9 but for the ice cream! Get good quality ice cream and warm the sticky toffee pudding!....and don't tell customers you're out of things then serve it to the next table!! Not great...

Went for afternoon tea as it was a birthday present. We booked in advance and said one of us was gluten free. When the food came out the gluten free select was terrible it was two sandwich one of which was picked onions and the other ham, two shop bought macaroons and chocolate mousse which we had to ask for a spoon and all they did was pick out a long coffee spoon from a dirty tray and washed that for us. I would not recommend this to any one as even the none gluten free options was...
