I went in the restaurant and ask for a corner table because I want to join a call. The waiter showed me table in the middle. Since I was a single diner, so I went to the table at the corner instead then a senior waitress came and told me that I can’t hv that table because it’s reserved, she insisted that I had to sit at the table in the middle so I moved. I join the zoom there and in the middle of my meeting, a staff approached me and asked me whether I can MOVE!!!!! Im in a meeting, but I still agreed. He moved me to a room which is a storage room, I was surrounded by luggages and other things. I finished my meeting and food there. When I was about to leave, I realised that my earphones were missing, then I went to the waiters to ask if they can help me to find it, they said no, as they don’t want to interrupt the customers. They asked me to move to other table when I had been served with my food and in the middle of meeting while they don't think they are interrupting me? They think ask the customers to check if there’s any earphones amounts to an interruption ... well, this is interesting I said I will talk to the customers if they are not going to, the senior waitress stopped me, I told her many times I really need the earphones and I’m visitor so I will not be able to come back to collect it if you find it afterwards. I walked straight to the table, the earphones are just on the table I don’t even need the person sit there to look for it! I’m so disappointed that no one is willing to help me with finding my stuff and the fact that they treated customers so differently- asked me to move, don’t think this is inconvenient to me but can’t talk to other customers because they are eating. This is definitely discriminate. The table of customers look like a wealthy family, I wonder how many bucks of tips you earn from them? WOW I still feel irritated after a year, but no one actually replies my comment, please do not come to this restaurant, they being nice to you because they want tips, and they look down on you in heart. It is a place full of ppl with...
Read moreI ordered a Chopped Cobb salad and it was not at all what I expected. Sometimes that happens. I didn't find it appetising and immediately informed the waiter.
My low score is not at all about the food but about the condescending manner in which the waiter responded. He loudly stated "I can assure you that....", I stopped him and pushing the dish to the other side of the table simply stated it was not what I expected because it appeared as if it might be a chefs preparation for a stir fry. My dislike for the presentation was my opinion alone and not a reflection on the chef at all. I would have happily paid for the salad since I knew it was rather my expectations that was disappointed than the chefs choice of presentation.
I was shocked that the waiter did not ask me if I would like to consider something else to eat instead. And I was most unpleasantly surprised when on returning to the table, his aim was to loudly educate me by presenting a photo of the chopped ingredients in their kitchen preparation 'bins' (the stainless steel ones that have individual ingredients pre-chopped for sandwiches for example). He still did not ask me if I would like to take another look at the menu for something else.
I enjoyed the general ambiance of the restaurant and I was touched to overhear them offering the meal to a couple who were evidently regular patrons. But I would not return because evidently they have no need for...
Read moreA very cosy restaurant which has become one of my favourite places to eat when splashing the cash near my office. A 5 min walk along Eccleston St in a quiet and residential part of Victoria and Belgravia. I had booked a table for myself and a coworker at lunch time and we sat outdoors as the weather was lovely and the terrace was beautiful.
I absolutely adore the interior decor of this restaurant - it is very elegant and sophisticated. All tables looked very comfortable to sit in. I was really impressed with the food - I ordered the Chicken Milanese which tasted amazing, very generous portion sizes and the service was efficient. I'd also highly recommend the new potatoes as a side - they had wild garlic and pesto and were the perfect accompaniment. My coworker ordered the lamb ragu tagliatelle which also looked very tasty. The menu is not massive but there is a great selection of different dishes and I can't wait to try the pasta next time.
I preferred this to the Ivy, it's around the same price mark and the quality in service, food and atmosphere was a lot nicer. A great place for a date or for a celebration.
I will keep this restaurant in my mind and visit again as well as...
