I thought I would be getting a lovely breakfast cooked to perfection, but instead what I saw was astonishing. The same utensils used for the bacon & eggs, was used for the mushrooms & tomatoes, all on the exact same grill. The hash browns fried in the chip fryer no problem, but then either pork or chicken sausages fried in the same oil as the chips. Whatever happened to food standards & hygiene in London. I think London is losing its respect for all these food places thinking they can do what they want. What if I had an allergy or special dietary requirements? I doubt they would’ve cooked it with caution. Also I should’ve taken a picture it doesn’t do it any justice £9+ for a measly breakfast, small portion, over priced, poor hygiene levels, cross contamination all over the place. Never going back here ever again. I think I should follow my pursuit & passion of being a chef & go back to bashing all the food places all over London & give them proper feedback for taking shortcuts, not adhering to food health & safety, cleanliness or hygiene levels. Disgraceful, gave me a horrible upset stomach after...

16/10/24 Absolute potentially racist cafe. Don't go. I politely asked for Sausage, Egg and Toast and Crossiant with cheese with Latte. They didn't bring me the sausage or Crossiant. When I went to pay and I asked why did they forget, the guy was unapologetic. Didn't even bother to say "Oh I am so sorry, I have forgotten or a mistake" Just kept sternly saying "I am not charging you, I am not charging you" Well ofcourse you won't charge me, as you forgot to give what I ordered! Reason why I said potentially racist, is he or they served different people with kindness and with me with contempt. I wanted to relax and have some nice food before my meeting, ruined my morning. Disgusting service and attitude. No apologetic, he was like, I give the food now... what?? Too late.

Need the owner response to this. I will edit a response back once I receive it. But no going take this poor service. Fed up with...

Brekkie Bliss at Bay Leaf Café – London City’s Hidden Morning Gem

If you’re on the hunt for a top-notch breakfast spot in the heart of London City, look no further than Bay Leaf Café. This little gem is exactly what a morning pitstop should be—friendly vibes, great value, and food that hits the spot.

The coffee? Smooth, rich, and exactly what you need to kick-start your day. But the real star of the show was the brekkie sambo—a classic bacon and egg combo that was perfectly fresh, cooked just right, and packed with that delicious, no-nonsense flavour you crave in the morning.

There’s nothing fancy or fussy here—just good, honest breakfast done right. And with prices that won’t make your wallet wince, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to.

Whether you’re dashing to work or lingering over a lazy start, Bay Leaf Café serves up breakfast with heart. A proper...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bay Leaf Cafe on Tottenham Street is an absolute gem! Their breakfast baps are the perfect start to the day — hearty, packed with flavour, and always cooked to perfection. The choice of ciabattas and paninis is fantastic too — I highly recommend the chicken and mushroom combo, it’s always spot on. Their homemade pastas are another standout — fresh, comforting, and full of flavour. Pair any dish with their rich, freshly brewed coffee and you’re set for a great meal. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. Whether you’re grabbing a quick takeaway lunch or sitting in for a proper full English, Bay Leaf Cafe delivers every time.

Came here to grab something quick for lunch. Service was fast. Selected a panini which was hot and fresh. Cooked breakfasts looked very good. Need to come back for the Bay Leaf Breakfast Bap - not sure how some many items can fit into one bap! Classic cafe experience which comes with the disadvantage of your clothes smelling of cooked food when you leave :-) Prices are a little on the high side but nothing extortionate.
