Hello- and many apologies on my behalf for the extremely late review! I'd been living here for approximately 3 years (2021/2024) for the duration of my Degree, and, have since moved out, but have just found some time to pay the Tower Bridge Team a massive thank you!
In no specific order, the concierge team (for the period stated 2021-2024): Kola, Ibrahim, Leona, Phee, Jessica, Alessia & all of the night team (apologies I have forgotten some names since then, but do remember your faces) were extremely helpful, gentle, kind and respectful as to any specific request during any time of the day.
Truly lovely people - really made studying a Law Degree that much more relaxing.
As for the amenities and the property itself:
Rooms (ensuite): 11/10 Lux! Underfloor heating in rooms, luxury bathrooms and kitchen, unlimited hot water and shower.... great views.... made so many great memories here.
Laundry room: 8/10 (although Circuit does get expensive sometimes!).
Atmosphere: 12/10 - Students and flatmates are genuinely really nice and fun to be around- especially if you're new to the City like I was. It was a pleasure to just be around likeminded people of all ages who attended neighbouring Universities (KCL/QMUL/Imperial/LSE). So much diversity too; everyone was from a different country, bringing their knowledge, expertise and culture over which was really interesting to be around i.e., Living with people from Italy, Peru, Japan, Switzerland and eating different foods/the different smells in the kitchen.
The staff always decorated the place for holiday events, with a bunch of freebies always available as you walk into the building (pizza/shower goods), and made events for the residents to get to know each other- especially in the study area (10/10 btw with Macs at hand and unlimited printer credit/great lighting.)
Also... Movie Room with a free shared Netflix account and every single movie... this can goes without saying.... 13/10.
If you're new to the City or University in general, you're really going to enjoy being here - even if you're a quiet person like myself.
Location: 15/10 - Tower Bridge is literally just outside. You're smack-bang in Central London - what more could you ask for? Aldgate Underground Station, Tower Hill Underground Station and the Tower Hill DLR are a minute's walk from the Property. You could literally get to anywhere in seconds (these tubes are really quick and show up every 2-3 minutes). Be it Fleet Street, Kensington, Mile End, Bloomsbury (in my case getting to University) was extremely quick and made the commute so much less stressful. Bike hire is available, and the Santander bikes are just outside of the building.
Also, if you're looking for food- there are is a small Tesco's just outside, which is near to a small Sainsbury's and Co-Op. Would recommend going over to Aldgate/Whitechapel/Stepney Green/Mile End/Brick Lane/Spitalfields Market for food though - they're about a 6-7 minute's walk away towards the East and have everything you could ask for in terms of food at an affordable price. Literally every different type of cuisine from each ethnicity.... (A lot of Halal options too).
And finally, if you are looking for work experience in a Corporate environment, the location is just perfect- you're a stone's throw away from the financial district, Liverpool Street, Fleet Street, Embankment and London Bridge...
Read moreIt's really sad that urbanest has had to pay some of the people above 30 pounds to write good reviews about their business, the offer is given from urbanest to people living there to make a quick buck and exploit the necessary frugality of a students life. The girls on this review i studied with and know for a fact they were paid to write this. Not only did men walk in on me naked and sleeping on multiple times, they don't even knock when walking into your room (I am a 26 year old masters student and had a studio). They say this is for "maintenance" however i never received even a KNOCK or a notice saying someone would be coming by before someone entered my room. Some of the male staff members urinate in common rooms without shutting the doors while the females are left there studying. The response below says this never happened, FUNNY since we even had a meeting about it where another Urbanest Staff member said it ALSO HAPPENED TO HER HA! Not to mention the washing machines stain your clothes and never work. The staff has also been caught tampering with royal mail and gossiping about residents. There is no air conditioning so i hope you like being cooked alive during the summer and also during the winter since there was a problem with the heating. Many people left the dorm because it was so unacceptable and moved into other dorms. One girl who had diabetes was forced to leave without getting any money back because it was too hot even with her expensive fan and the heat was messing up her blood sugar and it was dangerous. I highly recommend choosing a different option for accommodation.- Urbanest's response below is just another example of how much money they spend trying to "clean up" their image. They also rented the building to high school kids I think after we left, students with little power in voice, and also probably more accustomed to living in a closet, mean a room.what really happens here with false followups trying to discredit what happened---Well they can't, and I have at least for other highly intelligent graduate students from the London School of Economics that will back up every one of my claims. I assure you I have no reason to lie about the situation, I am now a PhD Anthropology Student and I have never encountered such lack of privacy and atrocities in my life- even when studying abroad in places like Turkey and Ethiopia, which were much more respectful. I had to stay in another urbanest place for two weeks free, yes, however it was due to the fact that the dorms CLOSED BEFORE OUR PROGRAM WAS OVER! Again another oversight by Urbanest. Use your power as a consumer and use your hard earned pounds somewhere they treat you like a...

cons room was handed to me dirty, mould in shower, shower door leaking water they covered the mould in the shower with sealant, to which i brought it up again and they ignored me my shower door is still waiting to be replaced as promised (they said it would take a month however it's been 7) shower water pressure is awful, water only drains when i hold the shower head directly over the drain water goes from warm to cold to scalding all the time sink water sometimes takes ages to drain?? bed frame is falling apart, random hooks have been stuck to my bathroom door room maintenance is awful, when i brought this up they said the building is 14 years old.. where's the consistent maintenance that I'm supposedly paying for? heating in my room turns on by itself, there's no manual to adjust, no ventilation kitchen was dirty when i moved in, fridges in an awful state with ice, when i brought this up with them i got told to clean it myself?? it's still dirty and i haven't used the kitchen since september ! what am i paying for?? kitchen tap is flimsy? needs changing?? dishwasher doesn't clean - brought this up with them they said they fixed it but still the same.. hallway is dirty, random air cons placed for ventilation however it doesn't work, the building stinks.. lifts barely work properly, they go past the floor you wait at most of the time. washing machines smell, barely clean the clothes, are cold and the doors on it don't work properly. they claimed my parcel before when i asked them for it they said there's no one by the name that works there as the delivery had a name, however they gave my parcel to me months later, it was just sat at reception... rubbish disposal is inconvenient, you have to travel a while.. i've given up with complaining as they don't ever do anything about it, i've seen the maintenance guy not do his routinely check, just walks in and out the kitchen in one go they don't care about your complaints, only want your money. i'm extremely disappointed, my dad works his a** off to pay for me to stay in a place that i can't even cook or use the shower properly at. i'm leaving this review as my last resort to see if they'll finally do something about all the complaints i've left !! if not ill probably have to go the legal route..
on the other hand, staff are friendly, location is convenient. moving in and out of the building is inconvenient, as you have to go down stairs to then use the lift so with packing boxes and suitcases it does...
