As a regular online customer who has enjoyed your meals many times during my busy working days since July 2023, the day before yesterday marked my first and last visit to your restaurant. My friend has been a big fan of this place and has dined there in person lots of times. On 14th February 2024, being Valentine's night, she invited me to join her in celebrating at your restaurant. However, our experience, unfortunately, was marred by the discriminatory behavior exhibited by one of your staff members. We even couldn’t sleep whole night because of this experience. It ruined our mental health.
One of the issues we encountered was with the quality of the food. Specifically, the lamb skewers we ordered were excessively salty and virtually inedible. This issue had never occurred before, and the skewers are usually our favorite. Despite our efforts to bring this matter to the attention of your staff, the response we received was both dismissive and unprofessional.
Furthermore, the most shocking incident occurred. In the beginning, we were informed by this rude staff member that we could receive a discount on our meal if we paid in cash. However, when we attempted to avail this offer while settling the bill, the same staff member made a profoundly offensive and racist remark, stating, "Not everyone can get a discount." This comment was directed at my friend and me, two young women celebrating Valentine's Day. Subsequently, he approached us aggressively, snatched the bills, and shouted, "Why don't you let me pay all the money for you?" This behavior was completely disrespectful and posed a danger to us.
The discriminatory nature of this statement is not only disheartening but entirely unacceptable. It deeply troubled all the witnesses in the restaurant at that moment, and they all looked at us.
In the end, we paid the bills, including the service charge, because there was a kind staff member who spoke to us and tried to console us in the restaurant.
I implore you to take swift and decisive action to address this issue. Discrimination has no place in our society, and it certainly has no place in your establishment. Obviously understaffed, the restaurant only had one poor waitress taking care of the whole of it on a Sunday afternoon. The waitress was utterly confused when I got there just as a normal customer asking for a table for one, pointed me to take a seat, and that table was dirty. Saw a daily special blackboard behind with a total of four dishes, with two dishes' name blocked by a Google Review sign. Asked the waitress to explain the dishes or at least let me see the full of it. Waitress yet again looked totally confused, only to explain reluctantly that they only got the first two dishes available and that sign was used to cover up the latter two dishes. What??? Then why wouldn't you erase that on a black board which will take 10 seconds? Assumed my question was legit for wanting to see the full picture, she again looked very confused (or maybe impatient). Then I switched to Mandarin which made the communcation better but her attitude did not seem to have improved. When ordering the dishes in Mandarin she also found all my questions very confusing, and as if I was dumb to be asking those question. Having finally ordered one of the daily special which was available on the blackboard, the food arrived which was tbh of great quality. However the item turned out to be very dry that I had to get something to drink. Ordered the Wusu beer with some bottles on display, which appeared to be interesting as I had never tried or even seen that, and seemed a speciality at this restaurant too. When I asked the same lady whether they had chilled ones to serve, she responsed 'not very chilled' although I saw those bottled beer in the fridge. I still ordered as I saw them in the fridge. When the beer came it was not cold. What?? Do you ever serve beer in room temperature?? Ruined the whole beer and wasted the food that came...

the aubergine was served in a cold salad-style with chilli oil as the dressing but it wasn’t as fragrant/flavourful as hoped and it was v oily so it got unpleasant towards the end. we also tried two of their signature noodle dishes - one with long noodles and chicken and the other with short noodles and beef. both were really unique and decent portions. they both tasted good and cooked to al-dente but we liked the flavour of the latter a slightly bit more!
usually i don’t comment on service bc i like to focus on the food but it was particularly subpar here. i had to repeatedly ask for things like tap water and cutlery but never got it so i had to get them myself which was embarrassing for both parties. at the end, we were asked how the meal was and i did raise the poor service in which we were told we would be given a discount. i assumed this discount would be on top of the removal of service charge but it remained on the bill and the discount was actually less than the service charge (10% vs. 12.5%). i recognise they were understaffed and busy so it wasn’t deliberate but i hope their management puts more effort into organising their rota bc it’s unfair on the staff...
