Yumtea — Restaurant in London

Had a very unpleasant experience here due to the poor attitude of the service. At first, my boyfriend and I passed by and saw a display case selling cheesecake in the store. We thought it looked good, so we wanted to eat it in the store and buy two drinks together to take a break. I often come here to drink their drinks and cakes because I used to live nearby, so I ordered the yuzu tea I had before, and my boyfriend ordered a matcha latte with the cheesecake. A female clerk who wore a blue hoodie and could speak simplified Chinese received us. When I asked her if we can order cheesecake, she was surprised and said with contempt: We don't have cheesecake in the store. So I repeated the name of the cake in English, but she still said it as if she didn't understand. So I pointed to the cake over there and explained to her, and she brought out the cake. When it came to the drinks, the yuzu tea I chose was dairy-free, but she still asked me what kind of milk I wanted, so I felt strange and asked her if this drink needed milk. She looked at it for a long time before saying, oh. ,No. Then keep her head down the whole time. When checking out, she probably didn't know how to use the payment machine. She kept her head down for a long time and didn't say anything. Wait for quiet long time, I thought she might didn't want us to pay by card, so my boyfriend asked her if the store didn't accept cards. , if so we can also pay them in cash. I don’t know how this sentence angered her. She replied very coldly, card only! So she continued to lower her head and fiddle with the payment machine, but she still couldn't figure it out, and finally asked her colleague to help her. There was no eye contact with us the whole time. And when the cake was packed for us, it was thrown hard. I really don’t know what we did wrong. After taking the cake, we went to the seat to wait for our drinks, our drinks were prepared by another girl, and served in front of her, she knew that the drinks were ordered by us, and did not have any reminders, just very indifferent to continue to stand there. We brought our own drinks back, ate in silence, threw all the resulting garbage into the trash can, and cleared the table. Just want to get out of here asap. It was a really bad dining experience, as a regular customer, I have always loved and supported this cake shop so I hope that the service in the store will improve in the future. After all, although the food should be delicious, the service attitude is also the reason why customers will choose you.

在这里经历了一个非常不愉快的用餐体验，由于服务 态度太差。 起初，我和男朋友路过看了店里的展柜有销售芝士蛋糕，我们觉的它看起来不错，就想在店里吃，并买两杯饮料一起，休息一下。我经常来喝他家的饮品和蛋糕，因为我之前住在这附近，所以我又点了之前喝过的柚子茶，男朋友点了一个抹茶拿铁，加上那个芝士蛋糕。 穿蓝色卫衣可以讲普通的话女生店员接待了我们，当我问她想点芝士蛋糕的时候她很诧异并神情鄙视的说：我们店里没有芝士蛋糕。于是我用英语再次重复了一下这个蛋糕的名称，她任然像没听懂一样再次说了没有，于是我又指了那边的蛋糕和她做出解释，她才把这个蛋糕端了出来。 到饮品环节，我选的柚子茶是不含奶的，但是她仍然问我需要什么奶，所以我感到奇怪，并问了她，这个饮料需要加奶吗，她又看了半天才说，哦，没有。全程低着头。 结账的时候，她应该是不会用付款的机器，低着头弄了半天也什么都没说，我以为是他们不想用卡支付，我男朋友于是问了她，是不是店里不收卡，如果这样我们也可以支付她们现金，不知这句话是如何惹怒了她，她非常冷漠的回复了一句，card...

The cakes are okay, but the service was cold and unfriendly. I didn’t feel welcomed by the staff. I have bought cakes a few times and always took them away. One day, I decided to sit down and enjoy the food by the counter. I asked the female staff member, who had zero facial expression, whether she had cheesecake. She just pointed her finger to the cheesecake on the counter, indicating that they did. I thought that was rude. Maybe she was having a bad day or something. After I sat down right next to the counter to enjoy the cake, she told me that my drink was ready and it was on the counter. I was sitting literally 1-2 meters away. She couldn’t be bothered to pass the drink to me. What kind of service is that?! Though she passed the drink to me after I asked ‘would you mind passing it to me’ and I said thank you in the end. Coz I don’t want to be rude as well even if I was already upset. I read some other reviews, and I don’t know why they received welcoming service, with one staff member was so friendly and even explaining how she made the cake. I will not go...

So just wanted to support a small business Vs the large chains which are around Yumtea, unfortunately the service staff were very rude. I've been here before and the staff were lovely, but this time it was horrible. As the service person saw us, she was very quick and rude asking in a very abrupt tone, "how can I help". We ordered a vanilla cheese cake and when she went to grab the cake, she did not bother using a tong or using a glove, which is simply unsanitary. We ordered a take away cake and she didn't ask about tissues or cutlery and when I tried to have a polite conversation, she was very dismissive even though it wasn't very busy. The staff need to be trained on Customer service.
