Resistance Wine Company — Restaurant in Ashland

My wife and I heard that Ashland is becoming a cool wine destination, so we decided to check out Resistance Wine Company, and do a wine tasting before we headed over to the playhouse. The wines are very good! We really enjoyed the 2019 Malbec, and were told that Malbec grapes grow well in the area. The winning wine was the Syrah, which had a lot of red berry flavors, and absolutely delicious! We had to leave with a couple bottles of it. Kirk was very fun to talk with, and shared a lot of interesting facts about the local grape industry. We found out that these guys are in their first year of operation, and they have already won Best of Show at the Oregon Wine Competition. I think they are about to explode...

I had one night in Ashland and can get beer anywhere so I wanted to give Oregon wines a shot. I saw the many high reviews and figured I should try this place for myself! For $20 you get to choose from 4 wines including some Rose, Sauv Blanc, Malbec and Syrah. The Rose was tart and light and a perfect way to start with an outside temp of 102 degrees! My mom and I had a fantastic tasting experience with Resistance! Kirk - one of the owners - walked us through a five-glass flight as soon as we came in. The wine was so refreshing (and the people so friendly) that we ended up leaving with 12 bottles!
