My husband made reservations for us to have dinner at this restaurant for Saturday, August 13th at 5:00 p.m. It was to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary.
In order to make reservations, a credit card was required. He made reservations the day before. Unfortunately, I became ill and we could not go and have dinner there for our reserved time.
We both had tried to call the restaurant several times before 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Finally about 3:00 my husband spoke to a woman who said she could not do anything for us and we would be charged $100 on our credit card because we needed to cancel 24 hours in advance. She said we needed to go online and cancel the reservation, which we did 2 times. She said she never saw anything from us online. I even called about 3:30 and explained the situation to the woman who answered the phone and said I became ill and could not make the dinner reservation. She said "they had lost a lot of money and people were cancelling right and left and that we would have to speak to the owner." She asked if we could schedule another time to come to the restaurant and I told her we were leaving the next day.
About 4:00 p.m. we did receive a confirmation email saying our reservation had been cancelled. We assumed that everything had been taken care of and that our credit card would not be charged. We did want to have our anniversary dinner there; unfortunately, I did become ill and we could not make it. We had a valid excuse for not showing up, and we still ended up getting charged $100 on our credit card!
I'm sure the restaurant is quaint and very nice with a delicious menu; however, I feel this type of customer service is terrible and we will never attempt to go to this restaurant again nor will we endorse this restaurant ever. I had to even give this review 1 star in order for this review to post. I don't even want to give them 1 star!

Read moreWhat a great restaurant! Atmosphere is special, and there is a real central Alps feeling. This place has personality. It is real. Food is great, with many (excellent) dishes you can find in Austria, in Switzerland, or in Italian Alps. In particular, Fondue as starter deserves to be mentioned, and schweinhaxen was special, elegant, tender, one of the best I ever ate. Wine list has also some good Italian wines for a reasonable price, and some Austrian ones. Desserts are very interesting. The chef came outside the kitchen visiting tables, we really appreciated. Service is great and "Alpine style". I...
Read moreVery warm atmosphere with Alpine details throughout. Staff was very friendly and very “authentic” our waiter was from Austria and made some excellent recommendations. They have Stiegl on tap, which is a excellent golden Austrian beer. The appetizers of sausages and pretzel were fabulous, the warm cheese dip was decadent, savory with a hint of sweetness. Entrees we’re all great! Schnitzel, Goulash, Smoked Salmon.
Hands down the best Suisse, German, Austrian food I’ve had...
