Wow I didnāt believe you could have a bad meal in Aspen till I came here. Leaving this review because I booked it based on all the positive ones I saw.
After arriving promptly for our dinner reservation. We were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes, because the team allowed the table to leisurely sit despite already paying well before.
When we finally were sat we were left to wait another 15 minutes before ordering. It was close to 40 past our initial reservation before we were greeted and our order placed.
After finally asking to helped, our server approached. He was perhaps the most unfriendly server Iāve ever encountered.
No apology, no welcome, Iām not even sure this man told us his name but insisted we knew he used work on Nantucket. Ok.
He truly was useless in helping familiarize us with the menu.
Youād think for how poor the service, the food was at least be decent ā youād be wrong. Some of the most over priced bland food.
Pastas - unremarkable. Fondue lacked any of flavor one would hope for in a traditional fondue, the schnitzel was very salty and dry.
For a $400+ meal. Iām appalled. We had a wonderful meal the night before at the Monarch, across the street. Head...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe restaurants atmosphere was amazing! Beautiful decor, so cozy with fur covered chairs, vintage skis ,cow bells, a really warm and inviting space...saying that, we have been dining in aspen since nineteen ninety two, and live down valley for 10 yrs. this was a BIG disappointment, it's all about the food, although the atmosphere was quaint it doesn't make up for the mediocre at best food unfortunately.... I had the crab pasta. The noodles were gummy. The sauce was oily with not very much flavor... the crab meat was miniscule and not much at that.. I could not finish the dish and did not want to take it home either. It was so oily and flavor less....very disappointed š my husband had the marguerite pizza and they did put prosciutto ham on it, which added much flavor.. His pizza was pretty good but not outstanding ,for the price it should've been.. The selection of wines by the glass was very poor in my book.... So we were very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in the food and beverage business for 25 years, and fine dining for over half of it. Needless to say, Iām picky. We were promptly shown our table. The server was not there immediately because we had friends already there, but once we were greeted, everything was amazing. All of the apps were good but the Burratta was outstanding. Entrees rocked as well. The Cacio e Pepe was a treat, as itās made tableside. The Cod with the brown butter sauce was awesome as well.
The sommelier was super helpful, and the bartender made a mean bourbon with one rock;).
When desserts came out I was too full, so I canāt speak for those, but everybody at the table was stoked.
Will be back. š„. 12/10,...
