Would love to speak to “chef Justin turner” about his latest concept.
This place will unfortunately be the third to fail at this location. Save your money. We tried our best to find an email to contact the owner directly since this place is local and we would have loved to see it succeed… unsurprisingly there is no way to contact the owner. No email listed anywhere.
Firstly, It is impossible to maintain that many ingredients fresh and high quality without things coming out of a bucket / bag.. the menu options was the first red flag 🚩.. lobster bisque, salmon, eggs, brussel sprouts, sandwiches, chicken parm and pizza??
Unfortunately the espresso is undrinkable, we left to make lattes at home. The cold brew tasted either very low quality or as if it had been sitting out and the espresso was some of the lowest quality we’ve ever tasted. I orders 2 shots on ice to get an honest taste for it.
The staff are just a bunch of kids, poor things don’t know the menu, do not understand the first thing about service. The 4 people behind us received their food 5-10 minutes apart. I corrected the young girl when she brought my food and explained it was a “caprese” not a Capri sandwich. She looked highly offended.
A manager should be present during these early days, learning what types of questions are being asked.. what type of feedback is being given.. visiting each table.
The coffee itself should be from a different source entirely but that’s really just the beginning of the troubles here. We felt we understand what they were trying to accomplish here with the gourmet tomato products and wine on the shelf.. but as my fiancé explained .. it feels like it’s trying to be fancy a la the heights/ post oaks locale whoever set it up didnt know how to. Cute place not good for a single thing other than maybe...

Pros-I’ve been here 5 times and I love this spot for our area! IMHO perfect combo=late lunch here followed by happy hour cocktails next door. It doesn’t get much better than that, such a lovely set up!
I would eat a protein bowl here for lunch every day if I could. Most bowl places will just pile the cold ingredients on top of each other and serve. At Lupo they toss them together, cook them, and serve it warm-YUM! Everything is perfectly portioned for a hearty meal and I love that everything is finely chopped so you don’t have to work too hard to eat it. I usually get protein bowl: mixed greens, chicken, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, vinaigrette & bacon topping. Adorable on the inside, but if it’s busy, and there’s no seating, I just sit on the nice, covered patio outside.
I’ve taken all my kids and my mom here. Everyone loves it and I always look forward to coming back!
Cons-.5 star off for the breakfast potatoes being way too salty & I usually add salt to food. Other seasoning is perfect, it’s just too much salt. I tried them twice, 2 months apart. This is the only reason I don’t get a breakfast bowl more often. Employees are nice, and try to be helpful, but can’t always answer my questions about the menu. It states 3 ounce espresso shot on the menu, which I thought was odd. It is actually a 1 ounce shot. Wooden chairs. I’m one of those people with lower back issues and I cannot sit in wooden chairs for long. No dawdling here, I have to eat and leave. This isn’t a dealbreaker for me but cushions...
Read moreCome for the food, leave because of the music. LOL. The food was drool worthy. I got the breakfast bowl with chorizo. Man, it was savory goodness and I was happy to stay on my Paleo diet with the meal. Coffee was better than Starbucks, although slightly bitter, barista drew some gorgeous hearts on my latte. They have actual board games for those serious gamers: Catan, Ticket to Ride, Azul, etc. Seriously, I would absolutely love to give this place 5 stars but can’t due to the loud EDM/hip hop music playing. I was hoping for some coffee shop vibe music so I could get some work done. I get it though, the 20 something staff needs their club mix to keep going. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha remixes, as much as the next gal…just not when I’m working. Lucky me though, I brought my headphones and blasted some Chillhop LoFi to stay focused, just wish my headphones were more noise canceling. Great for fun breakfasts with friends and coffee board game playing, just don’t think I can recommend this place for getting some solo work done which is unfortunate. They also blast the same music on the outside patio so that isn’t an escape option either. If management reads this - there are some excellent Hip Hop LoFi music options that would be a bit more “chill” but I’m not sure who your target audience is. EDIT: Happy to report that 3 weeks later they did change up the music. They were jamming some nice coffee house style music, Sade and some jazz hip hop style LoFi. So gotta do the 5...
