Updated review from 3/20/17 I've dropped my rating of this place from 4 stars down to 1, because of our most recent visit.
There were only a few people sitting at the bar when we arrived, around 2:30pm. As soon as we entered, the blonde lady who was tending bar (and a blonde lady with glasses, who we assume to be a manager) asked us where we wanted to sit and told us that the front area was set up for a party set to arrive at 7pm (!) We opted for a booth near the windows.
We were shocked to see how the menu here has changed since we were here last year. It's so much more Americanized, which is really disappointing. Also, the volume of the music here during lunch time is really silly. It doesn't need to be blasting loud to begin with, but when there is only a handful of people in here...yeah, it's really unnecessary.
Apparently, the barkeep was the only person waiting tables, too. We became upset when it took her several minutes, to come and take our order. (Again, there was hardly anyone else here!) I was just about to get up and ask her for the bill for our drinks, pay and leave, when she finally decided to take our lunch order. When she brought our appetizer, she asked if we needed our parking validated. We said yes, but we stupidly didn't realize at the time that she had only validated it for an hour! Because of how painfully slowwww the service was, our meal time was over TWO hours long. Rediculous!
There are so many other pub type places in and around Atlanta. We're saddened that this Fado isn't even trying to keep people coming...
Read moreNice decor, plentiful seating (inside and outside) and decent atmosphere. We went on a Monday evening, which explains why the Pub was almost empty. Good for us.
Alcohol menu consisted of the usual - local and imported beers (bottle and draft), wines, whiskeys and a lot of cocktails to choose from. We ordered Scotch on the rocks and a classic whiskey based cocktail which was good
We started with the chicken boxty quesadillas, which are basically Irish potato pancakes. They were quite interesting, different from the usual quesadillas but not too different either
For the mains, we ordered the Sandwich and Soup combo. Soup of the day was Tomato bisque, that wasn't too thick and was well made. The Sandwich was grilled chicken and bacon on a hoagie which was an unexpected surprise since we weren't expecting much from it
Overall, an evening well spent for us
As regards to the Pub, they have happy hour specials going on Mon - Fri from 4 - 7.
We will definitely recommend this place for a few pints of beer and some decent bar food, especially if you want to spend an evening with your friends watching a game. That's when this place comes...
Read moreNot happy, unfortunately. I stood at the bar for more than 10 minutes before I eventually asked one of the floor managers [?] to know if I could order a beer. The barmaid saw me and served others who came in after me but decided she did not like my face and so did not bother to serve me. He was most polite but had it not bee for him, I would probably still be there waiting. Once I eventually got my pint, I was about one third through it, went to the bathroom only to discover upon my return that the barmaid had thrown my pint already !!! I was upset, naturally !! The barmaid then proceeded to tell the people next to me that I was drunk and advised them to move away from me !! I am not sure of her name but she is fat with an attitude. Now given the fact that I am Irish [ born there ], I take this personally and to heart. Maybe you should put a poster saying something like "ugly people not allowed" or "Irish need not apply for drinks here".... ...
