This starts as a negative, but keep reading, my stay was wonderful! I chose to a staycation at Nobu Atlanta for their 4th of July package which included a complimentary glass of champagne, a gift bag of goodies, rooftop fireworks viewing and guaranteed seating for brunch. I'm a solo traveler most of the time and had a little concern going into the reservation as when I'd called about the guaranteed seating for brunch, I was told they only do reservations for 2 or more. This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine, I understand that a table for 1 isn't as lucrative, however it discriminates against a very real set of the population of this world. This sparked a little worry as it was one of the reasons I booked the package. When I arrived, I was told to make the brunch reservation at the restaurant they went ahead and booked it for me, stating that they could only do it for Sundays - and I was checking out on Saturday. No big deal, I live close by and decided to suck it up and take the Sunday seating.
My check in experience was as smooth as you can get. The warm towel and cold tea was a nice touch for a hot Atlanta day. My room was clean and comfortable and the amenities were quality. Can't remember the brand, but the smell was great and left my hair feeling soft. They have very high quality styling tools which I attempted to use, but.... I'm just not lucky with that skillset. I liked them enough that I did look them up on amazon to see if they were worth the investment.
The first evening, I checked out the rooftop bar and decided to have the wagyu hot dog and an espresso martini to start the weekend and watch the fireworks from there. Yum - highly recommend both. The hotdog came with pickled onions and spicy ketchup, very much adult worthy (though all hot dogs are, in my opinion). The bartenders were so helpful and fun. Kendall, Filipe and Ricky were there that night.
The 2nd evening, I made reservations for Nobu and it didn't disappoint. The service and food were incredible. If someone doesn't like the food - it's likely it was a personal preference and nothing to do with the quality. I was seated at the sushi bar and watched how they put together the food with precision and care. I ordered the salmon and caviar (I know, a splurge, but you only live once), the crispy rice and spicy tuna, yellowtail with jalapeño, an order of toro, an oyster shooter and A5 wagyu tataki. I enjoyed all of the choices. If I'd thought about it, I'd have skipped the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the yellow tail with jalapeño and opted for something different that I wouldn't get on the brunch menu. I was so focused on the food that I only had 1 glass of saki, but it was delicious and complimented the meal perfectly. After dinner, I went back up to the pool bar and the weather was perfect - there was a breeze and the bar staff continued to be exceptional. This time, it included Cynthia. I enjoyed a couple more espresso martini's and some good conversation. I was also able to successfully move my brunch reservation from Sunday to Saturday.
Saturday rolled around, and boy was I glad that I had a noon reservation because I really over did it continuing with the mini bar in my room and the extra sleep was needed. Brunch was delicious, and then I moved back to the bar and had some of those grapefruit cocktails that I would highly recommend if you're looking for something light and refreshing. I continued to just hangout and enjoy the company at the bar, probably well overstaying my welcome and eventually just booking a 3rd night. Cynthia really made sure I felt comfortable and delivered excellent drink suggestions. I can't forget to mention Sam here - he graciously delivered my bags to my new hotel room so that I didn't have to worry about that detail.
What a successful staycation, and now back to responsibilities and a reality that is much more mundane.
Thanks Nobu for all the hospitality and making me feel welcome despite my...
Read moreThis is to inform about an incident that took place at approximately 11am on 08/21/2024. My name is Geneva Maccarone and I was staying at Nobu Atlanta from 08/15/2024 - 08/21/2024 first in the Momji suite room 602 then in the Yuhu suite room 802. On the morning of our last day, my boyfriend went to workout and called the front desk for a late checkout of 2pm at a charge of $150. I was still asleep naked in my bed when I hear a loud bang on my door waking me up out of my sleep. I also have my “do not disturb” button on. I tell them to come back later, another knock and I say it again, “please come back later.” The gentleman then says “well do you have a late checkout?” I said “yes I do, please come back later.” There was a moment of silence so I doze back off when I hear someone entering my room, I pull the blankets over me and call out “hello.” The employee has entered my room and is arguing with me about whether or not I have a late checkout. I asked him several times to leave my room and he would not leave. I finally scream at him to leave my room and he exits. I ran to the bathroom to grab my robe and lock my door when I hear him outside my door calling to confirm if I have a late checkout or not as if I am lying. I call the front desk to alert them of the situation and open my door to ask him to step away then I hear him down the hall on the phone telling them no one was in the room.
Security and the supervisor came up to my room and I explained the situation and they said they would handle it. They gave me the general manager’s cell phone number as he was not on the property (Drew Smith). I called and explained my situation again and I’m not satisfied with the outcome. The employee was still on the property and they would not give me his name. They didn’t seem to care about resolving the issue or compensating me in any way for my troubles.
I have never felt so disrespected and violated in my life at an establishment as prestigious as Nobu. I expected better treatment. What happened to me was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I would never expect an established such as Nobu to tolerate that kind of behavior. I would like this employee’s full name and I would like this situation handled accordingly, not taken lightly. I came close to calling the police, because I was alone in my room and didn’t know what else to do. I did everything I was supposed to by having my “do not disturb” sign on and getting a late checkout and was still disrespected and violated.
I have worked in hospitality for almost 20 years and this type of behavior would have been cause for immediate termination along with some sort of compensation for the guest. As someone who spent almost $10,000 that week at your hotel, I felt extremely undervalued as a guest and it has left a bad taste in my mouth for Nobu Hospitality as a whole.
I’ve sent this email to several people and have yet to receive a response. I would like someone who is willing to help, contact me directly regarding this serious matter. Thank you

Here's their email: Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. First and foremost, please accept our heartfelt apologies for the disappointment you experienced during what should have been a joyful and meaningful celebration.
Completing cancer treatment is an extraordinary milestone, and we are deeply sorry that your stay did not reflect the care and recognition such a moment deserves.
We are especially concerned to hear that your and your husband's efforts to personalize your stay were not acknowledged. That is not the experience we strive to provide, and we fully understand how this lack of responsiveness added to your frustration.
We’re currently looking into the details of your stay to better understand what happened. At this point, we’re not entirely sure where the communication fell through, but we are actively investigating to identify exactly where things broke down and how we can prevent this from happening again.
Please know that your feedback is being taken very seriously and has been elevated to the highest levels of our management team.
We would truly appreciate the opportunity to make this right and to better understand how we can restore your trust. If you're open to it, our Director of Operations, Josh Jolicoeur, will be reaching out to you directly to connect.
Once again, we are sincerely sorry your celebration unfolded this way, and we are grateful you brought it to our attention.
Warm regards, Nobu Management
I reserved the Sake Suite for an overnight stay to celebrate my final day of cancer treatment. I wish I'd just gone with the Four Seasons.
We'd noted this special day when booking (directly thru the Nobu website) and in our restaurant reservation. We'd also emailed in advance to both to try to make the stay extra special, but not even a subtle 'Congrats' from either. A bit unusual for a luxury hotel.
All i really wanted was a night to do nothing but spend time with my husband marking the end of this journey with a nice dinner and in room breakfast in our robes.
But the room was really beat up, like an AC Hotel on a major college campus -- all the furniture, walls, and finishes were scuffed, scratched, or otherwise worn in a way that screams, "You're not the first, or 10,000th, person in this room."
There was one robe in the Sake Suite, so no breakfast in robes unless we call down and wait for someone to bring one up.
While the shampoo and conditioner had recently been replaced, none of the pumps were working. So I had to unscrew the lids and leave the bottles open while I showered.
I travel quite a bit and love to splurge now and then on a special experience, but this visit was a waste of money.
Do not mark a special...
