I’ve been going to slice since 2010 and last night was my last visit.
Slice has always been great for a quick slice of pizza however you wanted to order it but that has changed. First, after lunch they no longer sell slices. For Gods sake, the name is the restaurant is Slice. The owner who was at the bar told me that she changed it because people were only grabbing slices and leaving. Which I’m not sure, why that is an issue.
Anyways, we ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. It came out fairly quickly but it tasted worst than a at home oven pizza. The owner also let us know her pizza is always fresh but my taste buds detected that wasn’t true.
Next is the atmosphere. Businesses should learn that bartending is a skill. Just because you own the spot doesn’t mean you should be bartending. And if you are bartending, try a little harder to be nice to patrons and engaging overall.
Lots of places have closed over the years. I think this place will as well with these changes. RIP to the old slice.

—— Above is my review before the owner replied. Of course the owner outs herself in the reply as a childish adult who can not take constructive criticism. The same attitude you brought to the review is the same attitude patrons can expect at the bar. Owner, remember you brought this on yourself with the reply taking zero responsibility. Your whole response is about “you”, but “you” aren’t the patrons in your restaurant.
First, how dare you accuse me and my wife of being rude to you, that is beyond disgusting. Personal attacks are another symptom of being unable to step back and think logically.
You think this is AI? A long time guest leaving a review? Let’s dig deeper then. I believe all cultures and races have a place here in Atlanta and the US. Because I believe it, I left this out but since your reply is dismissive and rude here we go.
Speak whatever language you like. I don’t mind. However, if you are faking bartender for the night while (assuming) family is behind in the kitchen. Once we converse in English, then you immediately turn around dissatisfied and speak in another language, we know you are talking about us. Have a bit more tact if you are going to speak about people in front of them.
Saying you’ve never seen me before is fitting for someone who lived in Fairlie-Poplar for 2 years and after has been to Slice for each concert I attend at the tabernacle and the new Masquerade. Do I seem like AI now?
I see you trying. Replying to google reviews. Check my account, I was so disgusted this is the first review I’ve written ever.
Friendly advice for you. - 1. Gain emotional control. 2. Make better food. 3. Repeat step one.

Read moreA group of 3 of us went to Slice Downtown in early July. None of us had been to Atlanta before. We found a Groupon for Slice Downtown and figured we would try it out. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. Once we sat down, we had asked our server if there was any chance to turn down the fans (at least the one above us) since they were blowing on high. We had ordered appetizers and 2 pizzas. We received our appetizer and still the fan directly above us was not turned down. She told us it would be a few more minutes. We then received our first pizza and assumed the second pizza would be soon to follow. 10 minutes went by and we finally see our server again (who only had 4 tables). When we questioned her on the second pizza she said “let me check with the kitchen”. Another 10-15 minutes passed and she came out with the second pizza (20+ minutes post the first pizza coming out) and said “sorry for the delay.” When I asked her what happened, she then finally stated it was her fault and she forgot to put the order in and walked away. When she came back around another 15 minutes later, I asked her if I could get my drink for free or some type of service recovery since the second pizza came out over 20 minutes past the first pizza. She responded with, “well, I apologized already”. I told her thank you for apologizing, but I still feel as though there should be some service recovery. She said let me ask my manager. 10 minutes passed and the manager came out and stated his server just told him what happened and immediately went to rectify the situation. He was very helpful and offered several solutions. We accepted a round of drinks for all 3 of us on the house. That was perfect and completely resolved the situation. All it took was someone truly caring, owning up, and completing service recovery. The food was really good and the prices were very reasonable. Unfortunately, we just had a server who stated to us when she continued to forget things, “sorry, I’m having an off day.” Would recommend to others providing that this was an...
Read moreThe flavor of the pizza was amazing but the crust was uneven and the toppings were center loaded with “bloody edges” (my husband’s description). Needless to say this pizza should not have made it to the table. Parts of the crust were underdone while other parts were burnt. It was a slow Saturday evening and there was 3 other parties in there. Mind you I had my two young children with me. I feel like maybe our pizza was made badly to discourage us from coming back. This place had no high chairs so I got the hint real quickly that they preferred not to be kid friendly.
My waitress was over attentive at the start and then mostly ignored us once our pizza arrived. That was fine by me because she honestly made me very uncomfortable when she hovered initially. I did go ahead and tip her the full 25% because she did bring my food and drinks promptly. Although I had to wave her down for my bill. While the price of the pizza was reasonable for this kind of place, I felt $8 for a bottle of beer was too much. Maybe it has been too long since I ordered a bottle of beer while out because I typically drink draft.
I was really hoping that I would love this place. I am down in that part of town several times a year for conventions.
The owner wants to talk about my child wandering the restaurant. She spent most of the time on the couch by the door and then wander over to check out an arcade machine shoved up in the corner. There were no customers really besides us in the restaurant and I’m surprised the staff even noticed my daughter go over to the arcade since they were too busy socializing and eating at the bar. The owner only wishes to make it seem like my review should not be taken seriously but his response only further proves the attitude of him and his staff. He doesn’t even say anything to the description of the pizza or the photo...
