The Pies, are pretty tasty but the service I received on 12/23, was terrible.

I visited the location the Vinings, aroundThanksgiving time and was blown away by the service and their frozen keylime pie.

Due to my positive experience at the Vinings, I wanted to explore some more of their other options. I live less than a mile away from the Buckhead location, so I placed a large order for Christmas Eve. I entered the Buckhead around 2:00 PM on, 12/23 and I was disappointed in the service I was provided with. More importantly, I was the only person in the location, receiving poor service. The other customers in the establishment, were receiving amazing service levels. The staff was attentive, and assisting to the other customers but not to me. I was the only minority customer in the location at the time. The experience left a terrible taste in my mouth.

The restaurant accidentally left one of my items out of the bag, so I had to return to the establishment after my initial pickup to pickup the missing items. Whenever I return back to the shop, I attempted to explain to the owner and manager on duty my experience and how disappointed I was but the owner and the manager were extremely dismissive.

1/16/24 Update : Update on this post. Within several days of my visit at the Buckhead, GA location, the Regional Manager (Joan), contacted me to gather more details on my experience. I explained to her my frustrations, and the details of my experience at the Buckhead, GA. Joan was very concerned, and repeatedly ensured me that the company, does not intend on any of their customers to feel unwelcome or insignificant.

Joan also completed a few additional steps to rectify my experience or my feelings towards Southern Bake Company.

Joan went the extra mile, to practice the company’s core values. I have since visited the Vinings, GA on 1/15, and I was welcomed with exceptional customer service. I am extremely impressed with the supreme quality of this bakery. Crust is fantastic and filling is too. I completely believe their claim that the crust is handmade. In my experience making the best crust requires not only the correct and best ingredients, it’s essential to use the right technique to knead and roll the dough as well as keeping it always under controlled conditions. They are experts and it shows!

I especially want to commend them on the best customer service I’ve ever had. It’s personalized and done in the best professional and caring manner.

Lastly, their delivery is very well done. I am in VA and they ship from GA . Their frozen pies are so well packaged with dry ice and insulation that even though UPS was delayed and it took three days instead of two, and it was shipped in an environment of 90+ degrees days it arrived still safely frozen!

I’m in California. I first ordered the individual pot pies and they were wonderful. I have since ordered 5 fruit pies. If you like the pie crust crispy, these pies will totally disappoint you! The crust turns out to be soggy! The directions state to warm a frozen totally baked pie at 350 for 30 minutes! No way! Takes at least 45 minutes for a fruit pie to heat through. The pies plus shipping are pricey! I would expect an amazing pie, but was sadly disappointed. My very last order was 3 fruit pies and with shipping the cost was $135. Outrageous, but I was willing to spend this amount if they were fabulous. These pies were not! The last pie I baked I took out of the tin and baked on parchment paper thinking the crust would crisp up. It did a bit but not to my liking.
