The food was amazing and the only reason we tipped was that the back of the house should not suffer for the arrogance of the front of the House. Three of us came in and we usually do not have drinks but water without ice (not just for the palate to be clean in order to review, but also a beer is a beer anywhere). Sometimes waitstaff get upset as this means less base food and drink to get tipped on. This server was visibly upset, didn't want to explain the meals or specials, and spent his time ignoring us and paying attention to the other tables, No love lost, you do you, bud. We just had the appetizers and didn't order any entrees because of his attitude and decided we should spend our money elsewhere. When I asked for the bill, however, he didn't bring over a handheld, and when I asked for the terminal, he got angry and attempted to grab my card, saying he will swipe it. (People have lost their hands for less, especially when identity theft and credit card skimming is so prevalent.) When I asked for the terminal again, he instead tried to forcefully grab it a second time, and d then walked around ignoring us and complaining to the other waitstaff loudly, and ignoring me when I walked up to him twice to pay. Staring blankly ahead as if I wasn't there, at least he shut his mouth and stopped bad talking me when to my face. I had to go to find the bartender and ask him to pay, he then took me to the terminal where I used my card. Not that hard, right? The server could have done that all along and explained that they do not have a handheld (for whatever reason in 2024).
Train your staff. Buy a handheld terminal. Don't let your amazing cooks' hard work go to waste, by being overshadowed by...
Read moreMy friend and I went here for Memorial Day. We were expecting to spend at least $50 for crab legs. But our budget was forever in our favor because it was Crab Leg Monday there lol. Not sure if that's what they call their special. It was $20 for a pound and a half and one side. I had been craving crab legs so my greedy tail ordered two specials to share the second batch with my friend. I chose the crinkle fries and hush puppies as my side. THE HUSH PUPPIES WERE SO GOOD I DIDN'T NOTICE I INHALED ALL FOUR. 🙈🤭 I was lifting up food looking for the other ones and I had devoured them. 🤌🏼 The pound and a half of crab legs were two clusters. We had a few drinks and they weren't strong. I had to go buy two shots for our second round of drinks to add to and also ended up getting a corona 🥺 . The staff were nice and it wasn't packed, it was just right. There's sooo much space to choose from for dining. Upstairs patio, downstairs patio, there's seating on the first floor inside and seating on the second floor inside. There's a bar on the first and second level. On the second level there's a more private dining setting in case you have children in your party and don't want the full effect of the bar life. I definitely will be back since I only work a few blocks away so it's a perfect walk. Thank you to the manager for walking around and checking in on the guests consistently. That means a lot!! By the way the crab legs are steamed no added flavor just butter to dip and old bay is provided for you to season to your own liking. I spent more because I had two orders and three drinks plus I bought two shots. They have specials which really made the...
Read moreThis restaurant is consistently great, except for the time I tried their grouper sandwich, which was not so great. But, I'm not here to discuss the grouper.
I'm here to review what I had a specific craving for, which was stuffed shrimp and lobster bisque. I was not disappointed.
The stuffed shrimp with snow crabmeat & three cheeses is $9. You get 6. They butterfly the shrimp and put the stuffing on top and bake it. Yummy and temperature is hot! Now folks, these are not big shrimp. They are actually small and the stuffing usually falls off, and you will end up eating the stuffing and shrimp separately, but it is just so good. And, not overly seasoned.
I also ordered the cup of lobster bisque and salad combo, which according* (Get to this later) to the menu is $10. I was craving the bisque, which is why I came. It is always delicious and chock full of shredded lobster meat. It is simply delicious and well seasoned. You can't go wrong with trying it. If you are feeling really famished you can get the bowl of lobster bisque and salad for $14.
My salad was good, plentiful and fresh. I opted to try their balsamic salad dressing, requesting that it be put on the side. It was a creamy balsamic. I was pleasantly surprised.
*When I got my check, I noticed the combo was $11 instead of $10. I inquired and was told because I chose a particular salad, that I got charged the extra $1. No where on the menu does it state that, and the server/bartender didn't tell me that upon my ordering. I even asked her if I could choose any salad and she said I could. She did take that extra dollar off,...
