This is a honest review about your resturant. My husband and I choice your resturant for 2 reasons, neither of us has ever patronized your resturant and wanted to try it. Also the close proximity to our hotel. We was sitted by window by a lovely hostess at the front upper floor area. She even went the extra mile to wipe off the already cleaning looking table. We appreciated that, please thank her for us. Im giving you the short version of this long story...my patty melt was spicy but great and the caesar salad was great as well...now my husband on the other hand order the Uncle George's seafood boil with a side of 2 boiled eggs. After eating a shrimps, and the sausage, asked me my thoughts of the mussels which he felt didn't look right. I took one from his bowl and consumed it. Not even a moment later my husband informed me to look at a particular mussel in the bowl. A very small red tentacle like thing was moving inside one of the mussels. Now mind you the bowl was steaming hot when it was brought to the table. We watched this thing wiggling and "waving" as my husband described it. We called over the only visible wait staff at the time and she jumped back from the table when we described the situation to her. Our waitress came to the table and also mentioned "i see it" before taking the bowl away. Now of course that meal would come off the bill...right I have no right to request more than that ....but the manager didn't come to the table once after walking past us 3 times. We had to address it with the waitress before he chimed in to say " we didn't see anything". Not sure which said " we dissected it and it wasn't something alive ". I wish we videoed it for context.
Coming from a field of service...Managers should come to the table and acknowledge the situation and the customer.
The waitress brought my husband 1 cluster crab legs, super dried potatoes and corn and charged for that meal. We don't plan to revisit this resturant again...this could have went very bad with a worm like creature in someone's food. Do better...
Read moreChickie and Petes was a huge let down. The food was fine. Slightly better quality than a Red Lobster. It was the service that was the worst.
Months ago, I called C&P for a reservation because I chartered a bus for friends and family to Atlantic City for my birthday and wanted a place to do a group lunch. The manager I spoke to that day said I was good for 20 people at 2:00 PM on July 20th. I called the restaurant on July 19th to confirm my reservation and they confirmed the 2:00 PM start time. At 1:00 PM on the 20th, only an hour before the reservation the restaurant called and stated they decided to seat a walk-in party and that my reservation would be pushed back 30 minutes. My guests had already left the bus and there was no way to inform all of them of the time change.
When we got to the restaurant, the manager was unapologetic. He said the other party had a reservation which was either really poor planning on the restaurant or it was a lie. It was more likely a lie because the person who called said the party walked in and if the other party did have a reservation, why didn't the restaurant tell me the day before that my reservation was pushed back and why did they wait to call until an hour before.
We were seated around 2:45 The server was okay. You would think after such a flub, the restaurant would've sent over a dynamic employee to try and smooth things over but her service was just as average as the ambiance and food.
Maybe to some a 45 minute delay in seating wouldn't be too bad. But for us we feel like C&P took advantage of us, knowing that at the last minute I probably couldn't find another reservation for such a large party. Additionally we were only in New Jersey for a few hours. Time was of the essence. The delay ruined the trip. Everyone got back on the bus and stated how the delay at the restaurant ruined the plans they had. That is horrible for a trip planner to hear. Especially on her birthday. So it's a huge "NO" for Chickie and Pete's for me. Find a restaurant that cares about...
Read moreTreated my 87 yo mother for dinner on Jul 4, 23. We waited at the bar for a table and ordered drinks and Crabfeast. After 35 mins we were given a table upstairs near the casino. Mom went to the restroom near the bar downstairs since she was there and she is slow moving at her age, and our food arrived when she got out of the restroom. The bartender packed our food so we could carry it up to our table. We sat at our table and opened up our packed food to eat. Angelica the floor manager came over and rudely said we could not eat the food at the table. I calmly explained our situation and she could only say NO to eating the food, NO to sitting at the table. She talked so loudly that people from other tables looked over to us. I said I would pack up the food that I already ordered and was willing to order more food so we could sit and eat at the table, and Angelica still said NO and rudely talked over me without listening. Found out from a server that Angelica thought we were random people who ordered take out and randomly sat at a dine in table. Knowing that other employees knew this, no one from the establishment offered an explanation or an apology. We spent over $175 on food and gratuity.
The aggressive and rude way Angelica spoke to me and my elderly mother was out of line culturally and not at all following the standards for excellent customer service. We were feeling happy and generous that evening because it was Independence Day, we were looking forward to watching fireworks, we won at the casino, and we were excited to try the famed Crabfeast, but Angelica completely ruined the entire day and experience for us. We were insulted and Angelica left a very bad taste in our mouths. Will not recommend. Will not dine here again. Will continue to share the negative experience with...
