Pizza Di Roma — Restaurant in Atlantic City

STAY AWAY!!!!!! PSA: To everyone visiting or living in Atlantic City. Whatever you do, DO NOT EAT AT PIZZA DI ROMA! Located at 2310 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. I just bought a pizza there and bit into a one inch piece of sharp plastic! If I could give them ZERO STARS I most certainly would!

When I called to speak to a manager, I was told he was on vacation, then he would be in at 7a and then that “someone who was in charge” would be in at 1am. My husband took the pizza back and showed them the plastic and the “person in charge” happened to just walk in as my husband arrived and when addressed about the plastic, he called my husband a liar. They told him all of their toppings are stored in glass containers then proceeded to show my husband PLASTIC CONTAINERS!

We’ve purchased food from this place for years but they were so disrespectful and ignorant about a very SERIOUS ISSUE, that we will NEVER return!

*Edit: Reply to “Owner”. The demeanor and tone of this response is so dramatically different from whom my husband spoke to. I find it hard to believe they are the same person so one of you is not who they say they are… being called “liar, asshole” among other things shows me that this place doesn’t value their customers, especially ones like us that have never had a negative thing to say after years of eating there. Well that is until I lacerated my soft pallet on a chunk of plastic cooked into my slice of pizza. The only improvement that can be made is if the health inspector pays a visit and shuts the place down. Or someone buys the place and fires the “owner”. This sounds like an I’ll attempt at damage control and a poor facade of concern that couldn’t be bothered to be relayed in person yet is displayed for the world to see.

I would give negative 10 stars if I could. I’m here on vacation, just wanted 1 large BBQ chicken pizza delivered to my hotel room, pretty simple. I placed my order online via Slice, I got a confirmation text saying they were working on my order and it would be about an hour until delivery. After an hour and a half, I called the restaurant for an update and they literally had no idea what order I was talking about and kept asking me to confirm what I ordered and where it was supposed to be delivered to. I was placed on hold several times, could hear the employees talking and laughing in the background, only to be told that they would start making my order and have it delivered within another 30 minutes or so. As soon as I got off the phone with the restaurant, I contacted Slice who said they would contact the restaurant themselves to look into what happened for me. They reached back out to me only to tell me that the driver “went to my location with the order, but was not able to reach me”. Which was absolute bull** because I was starving and anxiously awaiting the arrival of this stupid $30 pizza I ordered. Nobody called me. Nobody texted me. So screw this place, screw the customer service on both parties ends, this place sucks. End of story. You have a better chance of securing a decent meal from a convenience store or even a trash can off the board walk. Save your...

Absolutely atrocious behavior by the owner. I placed an order last night over the phone and I was told that it would be 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. The delivery showed up roughly 27 minutes later and I was out quickly throwing my trash out. I called immediately back and the owner proceeded to verbally harassed me on the phone with extreme vulgarity and quite frankly knowing that it upset me but my daughter overheard it and an upset her. I order from many different places in Atlantic City and I’ve never experienced this situation horrible! I will not mention the names he called me. I highly advise select another pizza place and or restaurant to order from in our great Atlantic City there are many out there that are not threatening and disgusting on the phone to their customers. I have also posted this review on other sites to make people aware of this horrible situation. Zero stars for this place. As you can read and see from the other reviews I’m not the only one experience this disgusting behavior from the owner.
