We were in town for the day and decided to visit the outlets, RL has always been one of my personal favorites in Atlantic City; however, todays experience was dismal. After walking and shopping several other stores, we went to enter the Ralph Lauren around 1pm on 2/10/2022. As soon as we entered the store, we were chastised by a female employee that no drinks were allowed. My girlfriend had a 1L sized bottle of Essentia water we were sharing, cap on and just being held in-hand. She asked if she could leave it by the door, and the employee berated her that it was not allowed. We simply left the store rather than create a "scene" in this specific circumstance. We were barely a couple of steps into the premises, not greeted at all, and to be scolded for a closed bottle of water is ridiculous. Understandably, if it were an open can of soda, a fountain drink, or similar, we would have obliged. This rule/policy was not clearly posted anywhere, nor is it listed on the official Tanger Outlet website, etc. What concerns me the most is what if a potential customer is on medication, pregnant and/or nursing, has a non-visual disability, etc. We patronized several other stores within the AC Tanger Outlet Mall and was not once spoken to, questioned, or chastised for the same bottle of water but rather welcomed, greeted, and helped with care. I have been a Ralph Lauren share holder since 2008 and have never experienced this level of customer disregard in any of the corporate or leased outlet locations ever. With brick and mortar retail dying while living in these times during covid/the pandemic you would think any potential customer walking through your door to shop would be an absolute priority to your bottom line, not disposable over a bottle of water sadly. I was utterly disappointed by this mainly due to the way the rude employee spoke to and treated us and will actively reach out to this store location management, corporate Tanger, and corporate Ralph Lauren...

Read moreThe people at corporate should be aware of the incompetence of the staff there. Additionally, they are just short of being rude. I shop Polo consistently and after dealing with the people (staff) there I would rather deal with employees in Dollar Tree!! The powers that be,should be ashamed of the people they have working there! Especially of the Assistant Manager, the supposed Supervisor and the Manager that never came out to address the incident that took place. Long story, not too short: it took more than an hour to have an order written out. Then three cashiers would not accept cash. Then, the cashier didn't know what he,was doing. Someone else took over ringing the order. I was told I HAD to pay with a credit card. Then, every item had to be completely rung up separately. Rediculous!!!!! It took them LITERALLY 46 min to ring up a thirteen item order!!! Over two hours in that store because they don't know what they are doing!!!Shame on...
