Voodoo Room — Restaurant in Austin

Don't know why I'm writing this because I don't think this place is worth the 2 minutes I'm about to give it, but just wanted to warn everyone to watch out for the little super geek who works there. I remember one time I was sitting there quietly, minding my own business, completely sober and out of nowhere this little skinny punk kid with a high voice (thought it was a girl at first) told me I was "too f*ed up" and that I had to leave. I told him I was sober and he said I couldn't just sit there, didn't offer me a drink or anything. He had security escort me out, lol. What a joke. He's another example of a little kid who thinks he's cool because he works at a bar.

Just wanted to warn everyone of this. If you are easily offended, might want to avoid going here. 6th street is over...

I only gave 3 stars because this place could use a remodel. Some of the furniture is a bit run down in the bottle service areas and the bathrooms could definitely use some updating. It just feels a bit outdated and worn down. The drinks are a bit pricey for what you get, I got well liquor but payed a bit more than what you would elsewhere. The drink prices could be justified if the venue was in better shape. They usually do play good music to dance to though. It's not a terrible bar it just needs to be updated if they are gonna charge that...

Went on Sunday night. They were playing latino music which just makes me want to dance! Ordered a round of drinks. A little while later, my husband and friend ordered another drink. After a while, my friend went to order a 3rd drink and the bartender refused to serve her. We paid cash, left decent tips, we were tipsy, but not sloppy by any means, and this girl refused us service. I'm assuming it's because we were the only white people in the place.
