Courtyard Cafe at UMMS — Restaurant in Baltimore

I have spent many many days at the University of Maryland Medical Center and I have eaten many many meals at the Courtyard Cafe at UMMS. These days, hospital cafes are serving better and better food. Over the years Courtyard Cafe has been trying to improve too, and they have. While not the best food always, there is always something you might like. There are several stations to choose from like salad, sandwiches, hot bar, grill and specials. Desserts and fruits, snacks, coffee and drinks are also all available. The big issue for me, after staying in the hospital (with a family member) for an extended time was that Courtyard has not caught the bug to be more affordable. Compared to other hospitals in the area (that I have also had to stay at) they are the most expensive. I am glad they offer discounts to employees, but perhaps extend that to family "living in" the hospital with their loved ones,...

They have pretty good food selection but the price is a little bit expensive. There's a huge line during the peak hours and seating arrangements can be scarce for large groups. Difficult to find food if you have religious food restrictions, haven't seen any halal options ever, saw kosher...
