Blaze — Restaurant in Bar Harbor

Food was ok. Paid extra for Caesar salad and it came out with the meal warm and soggy. Would have been nice to get it while waiting for food since they don't bring bread out. Was starving and feeling light headed and asked for bread and they said it would take a while because they bake it. How about bringing something out if someone asks. Obviously asking for a reason. Even non baked would be good. The salads would have worked if brought out before the meal. My fish tacos were ok, nothing special. A little on the dry side with not much in them. My daughter loved her chicken tacos and the others seemed satisfied. Atmosphere is nice. Liked sitting outside. The waiter was nice and very professional aside from not tuning in to doing something to tide us over till our food arrived. The wait was rather long. Granted it was the week surrounding 4th of July and most would understand that. However, if there is a wait, do something for your customers please! A little hospitality...

I have tried Blaze a bunch of times now. Went once and pork belly lollipops appetizer was horrible, another time, ordered something with a egg on top, the egg was complete snot, if you are glowing to do a sunny side up egg make sure the white is cooked. I have worked in restaurants for over 20 years and this is the first bad review I have ever left but i’m trying to save people money. It is my personal passion to serve delicious food. So I tried Blaze again for the last time yesterday, I got a extra pepperoni pizza, I’m quite sure it had 10 pepperoni’s on it. The dough was not cooked at all on the bottom, it was inedible. I would never have served that to anyone, if I get food to take to my table that is not up to par I tell the kitchen to fix it. Also, it was 20 dollars for this “extra pepperoni pizza” When someone says extra pepperoni you shouldn’t be able to see the cheese on the pizza. Blaze, you really need to get...

Had such an amazing dinner at Blaze this evening. Staff was excellent. They were VERY busy and working so hard while keeping a fun and welcoming attitude. We waited a little bit for service but guess what people…. STAFF ARE HUMANS TOO!! Our beautiful state of Maine is understaffed and very overworked with the severe influx of visitors. Our server is usually a manager and he hadn’t served tables in two years! He was amazing. The beer was delicious the food was delicious and the vibe was rad. My favorite part of the menu was the option to buy the kitchen staff a round of drinks for $25. Money very well spent in my opinion.We will definitely be back before we leave to go home to southern maine.

Slow down, enjoy all the things that this beautiful place has to offer. Please remember that these hardworking people put up with A LOT of you impatient rude customers.
