I hate giving a bad review but i just want people to be aware. When we were sat we waited 20 minutes with no water no chips nothing and I finally spoke up when another table right next to us was sat greeted and given chips and water all before us even though they were sat after. I asked one of the waitresses if we could just get water because it had been 20 minutes and she said let me check with the hostess. This waitress ended up being our server. She brought waters and asked if we would like to put our order in so we ordered appetizers and meals at once just so it would be easier. Appetizer came out and when i say there was no flavor in the taquitos there was 0 flavor. :(. Then the meals come out and I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it didn't say on the menu that it came with onions inside and i'm allergic and of course when I take a bite there are onions inside. (there were also onions in the appetizer and i stopped eating them when i noticed but i can't remember if it said it on the menu). Everyone else eats their food and one of the two people with me said their food barely had any flavor either :(. The waitress came to ask if everything was good and seemed very rushed and someone else said good so she walked away before i could say anything. At this point i decided to not say anything about the quesadilla because at the end of the day it's my fault for ordering them and they had onions in them. The other two people finished eating and when I tell you that it took the waitress 25 minutes to bring the check :(. Like i really just wanted to leave so I could go get food somewhere else lol. When she came over to ask if we needed anything else I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for another meal so I asked for the check. She noticed I didn't eat any of my plate and normally as a server if I notice someone isn't eating I would ask if everything was alright or if they wanted something else but she didn't say any of that and we just felt like an inconvenience to her. The hostess was super nice and the waitress was nice as well we just happened to get neglected and waited a very long time for things. and it was 97 dollars :( and the food had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeyond disappointing, I come to the cape often and decided against my judgment to give this place a try . Iāve been to anejo which is two doors down. I went with my girlfriend and her baby and my two year old as well. Big mistake , the service was horrible . She had an attitude from greeting us . She plopped the Chip basket down never said Iāll be back to take your order we sat with the chips for about 15 min she returned and asked if we knew what we were drinking . We put our drink order in and asked could we also do the babies food . The restaurant was dead upon us arriving . We waited another 15 min for our margaritas.still with chips in our basket she walked by and picked the chips up never asking if we were done. That was the only thing entertaining the two two year old children . Finally she ask if we know what we want to eat . We place our order and shortly after the kids food comes . Ran by someone other than our server. No one asked if we needed anything as our cups are empty. After waiting almost 40 min after the kids food our food comes out . I ask the server if we could do another round and get ice cream for the kids. My daughter accidentally drops her fries and instead of my server being kind she storms away. Never asking if she could help or do I want something else for the baby when she does come I said cancel my drink . Iāll take the tab she brings the tab never asking do we need boxes and never brings the ice cream we ordered . After speaking with a manger the table next to me said thank you for speaking up so I know it wasnāt just me. Iāll be returning and I donāt recommend wasting your time or money when itās delicious Mexican food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI picked the place. This is a new location for an old family restaurant that I used to visit -- it used to be truly the mom & pop experience. A secret hide-away but everyone knew about it. The kind of place you'd want to get there early because the food was that good. (It's still that good.) However, there are some problems today.
Supposed to open at 11:30, but it was more like 11:50. Party of 6. A cool march day with few others in the restaurant from 12 to 1pm.
We are year-round Cape Codders that dine together monthly and we tend to be generous orderers and tippers. We were doing our thing. The food was very good. I added more food to take-out for someone at home. Then it happened: the forced 20% tip itemized on the bill.
No warning, a big blank tip line waited for even more money. Even my to-go order was charged the 20% tip! Bogus.
Sorry "My Hometown People" (Mi Pueblo), you blew it. People will always remember the way you make them feel. Despite the good food and fairly good service, we felt disrespected and disappointed. You didn't give us the opportunity to do the right thing (tip well for the service we received). You didn't mention that you already tipped yourself and to not worry about it. You just dipped in and helped yourself.
It's been weeks now and this is what my friends talk about in reflection of our visit. Not the authentic and good food, but that stupid tip business. They have no desire to come back, even though they know...
