We went at around 11:30 AM on a Monday and it was mostly empty (which was great for us!). Plenty of seating inside and outside. Smiling, upbeat workers who seemed to enjoy working and engaging with guests. The food was all great! We got a scone, empanadas, and a breakfast sandwich. The hot food was the perfect temperature and appeared freshly prepared. The scone was loved by my girlfriend although I would have liked more berries in it, but it was huge! We had enough to take home and enjoy later too. I loved the fact that the syrups are locally made. I believe the shop makes some themselves while others are locally-sourced. That really elevated the experience and was a welcome surprise. Nice atmosphere that wasn't too loud when we went. I enjoyed the fun, indie music that was playing (which is usual in coffee shops I suppose). When we went, street parking was available but, again, it was Monday around 11:30 so not really a peak-time. Appeared to really support local businesses and events. Had a bulliten board in the back with posters from various concerts and events happening around town.
Feedback: I forgot to take pictures of it myself, but posting updated pictures/listing their menu online would be helpful. We picked the place based on it's online reviews but would have preferred to know more about the menu before arriving to ensure there were things we could both eat. (Diet-wise and taste-preference.) It can be harder to find because it's tucked back from the street a little but once we rounded the corner it was...
Read moreSo we went into this shop to give them a second chance. That was a poor decision on our part. For starters they are extremely slow at taking orders. After waiting around 25 minutes for our order, it was wrong. They gave me the wrong sized coffee. Not the end of the world. So we waited through another person's order for our last coffee. They never made it. So I went up and asked about it. They looked at a sticky note and told me they made it. I told him they had not and he got mad at me. Told me he was sure they gave it to me. They finally made another one. Took another 10 minutes to get through this ordeal. While we waited some teenage girls came in and one of them asked to use the restroom. She was rudely told its for paying customers only and directed to go to a dark public restroom instead. The 3rd coffee we waited for was horrible. My wife tried it and said it was bad, I said no way its that bad. I tried a drink, it was that bad and had to be thrown away. The coffee at this shop was not that great the last time we tried it and we only went there because the other coffee shop was closed. Big mistake. Staff is...
Read moreI had the most incredible time talking to Stewart the owner of Belatazza yesterday. After spending half a day on Sunday driving around to the different coffee shops that roast beans too try espresso and get fresh beans, I felt it hard to have a connection with any place I went. Then yesterday while running errands I popped in to Belatazza right before closing and inquired about their espresso. Stewart spent way too much time pulling different shots for me to taste the difference and educating me on why they taste so different. He then offered to take time on a weekend helping me to pull better shots from my new espresso machine. He doubled down on his passion and love for all things espresso and made sure I knew he was serious about his willingness to educate me. I was blown away by his character, kindness and integrity. Best experience ever and his attention to detail won me over as a customer for life. I will not go anywhere else after the exceptional existence I had. Thank...
