The front desk staff was friendly. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our 8:15 reservation and were seated after a short wait, near our scheduled seating. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and made helpful recommendations. We ordered red curry with pork, and pad see ew with chicken. For drinks we had a spicy passion fruit margarita and a Thai iced tea. The red curry was delicious and balanced. I found the pork a little bit rubbery, as though maybe overcooked - there was no char or crisp to it. The pad see ew was very good. It was not too salty nor too sweet, like this dish can sometimes be. The chicken was cooked to a nice flavor and texture. The margarita had definite kick, which I really liked, but it might be too much for some. The thai iced tea was ridiculously sweet, I thought. The tea flavors got lost in the cream and whipped topping. The drink felt a little bit gimmicky to me, between the presentation and dessert-like quality. I felt a little rushed when we got close to 9pm and the music was turned off and the staff were clearly occupied with shutting things down. Open hours were until 9pm so it is understandable that they would be wrapping up, but if they are going so far as to make the atmosphere less inviting at 5-til, they should not take reservations 45 minutes before close. I found the dishes a little overpriced for what they were, like we paid a bit more for the setting and presentation than the meal itself. Still, a generally positive experience, and would recommend trying it out.

Came by here early for lunch with a large party. While making the reservation I witnessed the scene an irrate customer had with the staff over the bathroom incident (im pretty sure the staff is aware of what im referring to). I gave them the benefit of the doubt even after being warned by the customer and made a reservation and didnt inform the rest of my party. They are still clueless. We were seated and the staff were friendly yet seemed to be understaffed. The appetizers came out all at different times. The complementary soup was great but it was short 5 people and took a good 10mins and 2 complaints before having it brought out. The presentation of the food and the ambiance was nice. The thing that was really bothersome was the spice rating was inconsistent. 1 🌟 dishes were spicier than 5 🌟 dishes. I wouldnt usually dock ratings for this, but I expect the dishes to reflect the pricepoint that is being demanded. The seafood dish had a strong metallic taste as if it wasnt washed properly. I was excited about the masaman lamb curry since that's the proper protein for that dish. The staff informed me it was of New Zealand orgin (better quality than domestic). What I received was one of the worst lamb dishes I've had in my life. The lamb rack was portioned into double ribs (mistake #1). While it might make the presentation easier to setup, it exponentially increases the skill set required to properly cook it. The sauce had great flavor but neither the lamb nor the curry was inflused with each other's flavors. Lamb rib rack is an expensive cut but is one of the easiest cuts of lamb to cook and some how they managed to make it super tough. It was the consistency of a shoe sole. The lamb was uniform in color thru the core. It makes me believe the frozen cut was cooked via microwave and the curry poured over it. I included the picture of the fat which was all intact. Non of the fat was rendered nor did it have any flavor which is an indicator that it wasnt cooked in the sauce nor was it grilled/seared. I asked for steak knives and they both were dirty. Even with the steak knifes I wasnt able to cut thru it. I used my spyderco s30v blade which I use when reviewing steaks and even that had an issue cutting thru. (+10lbf to cut). Furthermore, thru the +1hr stay our water was only filled once. Also, the soda that was ordered was just carbonated water. I'm unsure if the chef was fired prior to us being seated or just a bad set of SOP that all happened to align on that day. Because of that, I will give the benefit of doubt and not leave 1 🌟.

Worst experience to date! We sat at the bar, and it took 10 minutes to get noticed before a server brought us water. We then ordered food and drinks. Our food came out sporadically; fresh rolls, then 10 minutes later the satay; then the garlic chicken (which we order at spice level 4, and came at level 1); then no red curry. FINALLY got noticed by our server who then proceeded to tell us the curry went to the wrong table. 15 min later the manager came out, and said “there seems to be a problem here” (to which his attitude wasn’t inline with the establishment, and more like we caused something, when it was his food runner in the wrong). We then waited another 15 minutes for the remainder of my food to come out. When it did, my level 1 spice was super spicy, but I had now waited almost 45 minutes for my food. While we were waiting I saw someone I knew sitting at a nearby table and the waitress kept asking me to move so she could get through. It was extremely rude, when she could easily go around. When we got the bill, we noticed the “$6 beers” were more like $6.25 each. Horrible service, staff seemed like they didn’t need to take care of their tables or seats at the bar. Good luck on getting your food, as we were offered others food multiple times. Manager was less than helpful and rude to be honest. It will be a while till we go back.

Love this place, the food is amazing and the Thai cultural elements are very immersive and entertaining. However the bartender who supplies literally every table with drinks, whom I ordered from directly from the bar before being seated, was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Considering I can’t get a bartending job despite dozens of applications, how someone who doesn’t even know what a gin martini is got a job blows my mind. Their version of a gin martini included lime and a full whisky glass of crushed ice. What?! I then asked for a Gimlet, pretty common drink, they said “What is that” and before I could tell them, they asked Siri on their Apple Watch to learn the recipe. Right in front of me. Annnnd they still didn’t make it right. Then they made me a second gimlet which I didn’t order, with lemon juice instead of lime. They also made my mom a second French 75 without her asking. She drank it and got totally drunk which of course is user error but could have been avoided without random seconds which they charged us for even though we didn’t order them.

This is a true gathering locale for any foodie or setting. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very accommodating, from a romantic date, to a family gathering, to a father and son on a road trip just looking for a decent place to eat good food. (That was us.) The atmosphere was in-between and Asian and a far-eastern Indian setting. There were romantic tables, places hungry guys like us, and a large setting for bigger families. Out waitresses had an uncommonly beautiful name of Athena and she was absolutely amazing. She was everywhere, making sure we nor anyone else she was serving, were not forgotten in the chaos. Then came the food. It was a true palette pleaser. The flavors were plenty and spot on. There was plenty of food on the plate, the appearance was beautifully plated, and the taste was so wonderful, I had to leave a review for others to enjoy. I couldn't have accidentally picked a better spot in Bend OR. to eat. The one thing that I can say when they could do better, was the lighting may be a bit too low. Hard for us older people to see the menu.

While the food here is good, it's definitely not authentic. The flavors were there, but not the ones we'd associate with traditional thai cooking. My husband and I came to Noi Thai for lunch after he saw khao soi on their menu. He enjoyed the dish but he said it didn't hit the spot to fill the craving for it. His biggest pet peeve about it was that it was too sweet, not spicy enough (he ordered their highest spice level, 5) and that they didn't give him chopsticks. He said "I've never eaten khao soi with a fork before, it was weird". Speaking of sweet, we ordered the fried chicken appetizer, which was also very sweet. The sticky rice helped alleviate the sweetness. Our favorite items were the drunken noodles, deep fried pork and the Thai iced coffee. These were delicious. It might be asking a lot for authenticity in Bend, but if you'd like to have some good Thai food in a beautiful restaurant, definitely check out Noi Thai.
