Had a reservation booked over a week ago and was treated poorly by Savanna after receiving a phone call the day of for my reservation stating that I booked the Garrison room which was different from the main bar area where they serve their cocktails and I was unaware of this as the website was confusing and there was no explanation of the reservation I was booking. The reservation was moved from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as my group was planning on getting dinner, going by Gatsby and then we had an escape room booked from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. I called back to explain I was going to be maybe 15 to 20 minutes late (this call was made 4 hours in advance) and explained that we would be in an escape room until 8:00 p.m. Savanna went ahead and let us know that if we were more than 15 minutes late per policy that would cancel our reservation and give it up to the wait list. While I can understand this policy without calling in advance and letting her know that due to this reservation change and given the fact that we would have no option of being there right at 8:00 p.m. they would cancel the reservation but calling back and explaining that due to having to move the reservation we would be a little late and then to be met with her irritation and rude explanation it left a bad taste in my mouth to want to even give this establishment a chance. If the hostess has that poor of customer service I can only imagine the experience once I am in. I don't know that based off of that experience over the phone I would ever reccomend anyone...

When we got to the door, we had to wait outside in the cold 15 minutes past our reservation time before we were admitted (which wouldn’t be a problem in summer but it was very cold). The initial admission is fun and unique amongst the speakeasies in the valley. The drinking area itself was a bit anticlimactic. Our table sat squarely facing the area of the bar where old drinks are discarded so our view the entire time was of 20-30 dirty glasses. The drinks are not so unique that it justifies paying $20 for a cocktail. The F. Scott Fitzgerald was well done, in any case. We asked for water with our cocktails and took it several requests to actually get the right number of waters for our party. Our bill reflected that we were charged for each (maybe) 8oz of water. Who charges for water?? When I made the booking, it asked if it was a special occasion; I shared that it was for a birthday. When we arrived they were surprised to find out it was a birthday. Why ask for that info when booking if nothing will come of it? Other businesses at least acknowledge it if not offer some small gesture of celebration. We were told our bill could only be split three ways, equally divided. This was not convenient in the slightest with four drinks of varying prices. I’ve never heard of a business with this policy.
In the end, we will probably choose to go to another speakeasy for a...
Read moreTop quality speakeasy. It is truly worth the effort to go to (you have to get a reservation, and you MUST get the password). They have some of the most impressive presentations I have seen at any cocktail bar, and I have been to many. Their drinks are in the top 1% of bars I have been to. The staff is fun and amazing, particular shoutout to Savannah who literally remembered my name when I came back recently. I literally booked my birthday here the moment I tried this place for the first time. Make sure to ask them about the Garrison room. The tasting experience is well worth it, and you can't beat the atmosphere they built for it. I would add that both times I went was during their Christmas pop-up, but I did try a few of their standard menu items, and they did not disappoint. I didn't rate the. on food because they aren't really a food spot, but they did have some small snacks, and the cookie was pretty damn lit.
Pro-tip: Note that you will be waiting outside until they come to seat you, so plan ahead if it's cold, raining, or snowing. They had a heater outside but still worth noting. Also when you are there, they hear what you are saying out that door, so even if it's cold, be polite, they are moving as fast as they can to seat people, it's just a small tightly seated place so it's part of...
