VERDICT: A consistent favorite and an absolutely killer duo paired with The Gas Lantern (see note in Service). FOOD: This place kills it. Get the fries, pretzel, cheese curds, and wings. Get a draft (a good hazy or stout depending on the mood) or cocktail (pictured: the Smoke and Thyme from the Gas Lantern) and enjoy the culinary bliss as it unfolds. Their burgers and sandwiches are completely worth the stop, too, depending if you're looking to shoot the breeze or shoot a few rounds on the pool table (my preferred entertainment). SERVICE: I have consistently received fast food service when stopping by the Gas Lantern. The bartenders are prompt, and their new buzzer system is likely responsible. The food was already good but now it's even better due to the fast delivery. ATMOSPHERE: Given that they are a ghost kitchen, they don't really have an atmosphere or presence other than stellar food. I have had food from the other locations they service in this complex, and it's been good, but it's definitely the best from the Gas Lantern.

I tried their Cesar salad and it had all the flavor I was expecting. Just the right amount of anchovy for the right bite. I asked for a bit more of the dressing and it was perfect. The only draw back was some of the croutons were way too hard to chew. Other than that I will continue coming. My friend that met me there was impressed with their French dip and I had their bacon bourbon burger last week. EXCELLENT burger.

Stopped by for dinner and grabbed some buffalo wings and their (I think) white dog fries. Wings were decent and buffalo sauce was great. Fries were nice and thick and fresh! Great downtown location also! They had just started trivia as we were leaving, next time I’ll join!

This Review is for Smoke and Thyme’s catering service from our wedding reception

Smoke and thyme catering is world class, both in service and in food quality. We had them cater for our wedding and they were the highlight of the event in my eyes. Everyone raved about the food.

Dave the owner was very easy to meet with, and was flexible with our schedule. He is very insightful for all the small details that go into a Catering event, and nothing was overlooked. We started the process by giving him our initial budget, a rough estimate of guest count (which was nailed down roughly a week before, again very flexible and understanding with some fluctuations), and a couple of ideas for food we were considering. He was prompt in getting us a fantastic menu selection. the hardest part of the process was deciding what entrees and sides to go for, because everything sounded so amazing. There were many options! We decided to go with Choice grade smoked brisket, served with his home made Texas Campfire BBQ Sauce, and Smoked Salmon with a sour orange red onion mojo sauce. Sides are listed below.

Dave’s flavors and smoking process are top tier, the brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the salmon was some of the best salmon I’ve ever had, I still have dreams about it. We also had a couple vegetarian plates for some of our guests who requested it, which was very accommodating.

We utilized their mobile kegerator that has the storage capacity for 4 six barrel kegs, and it looked and worked great. It was a hot June day so the beer did get a little foamy but that was inevitable, and an experienced beer pourer had no problems. It worked better than kegs in trash cans with ice and a hand pump, and looked professional. We ordered kegs from White Dog Brewing right next door, signed for them a few days before, and Dave’s crew delivered it all to the party ready to go.

The day of the event we didn’t have to worry about any coordination on our end, as we already discussed in depth the final plan a few days prior and Dave was able to execute it. They took charge of unloading everything, setting it up, and tearing it down. Dave’s crew was polite, welcoming, and took care of business. They took a lot of pressure and worry off the day.

I highly recommend working with Dave, he has a passion for food and for service and it shows in his work. He met our budget with fantastic results, and delivered a fantastic meal to our 115 guests. I can’t recommend Smoke and Thyme catering enough!

Side dishes:

Mac-n-Cheese - cheddar cheese, gruyere cheese, Romano cheese, ham, bacon or prosciutto, marinated sun-dried tomatoes, and sautee'd leeks, with Italian herbed panko flake crust. Roasted Red Potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary, Asparagus with Parmesan Lemon...

My friend Jessica and I went to White Dog on 12/26/21 for food and drinks. Upon asking the bartenders for their recommendations (French dip and street tacos), we settled on our hearts' desire for a burger. I had the elk & kobe burger, and Jess had the bison & kobe burger. We both ordered French Fries on the side, and we shared the fried oreos for dessert.

I'm not a big mushroom fan, but I really liked my burger. The patty was enormous and very tasty. Jess liked her burger as well, but we both LOVED the fry sauce. Another review said they would drink it - which isn't hyperbole. It was very good, the best fry sauce I've had in the area. And on top of that, the fries were well-seasoned. The Oreos were amazing, but I wish they all would have been original Oreos instead of two chocolate and two vanilla.

The couple at the bar next to us got the French dip sandwich, and it looked equally as amazing. I'll be back to try that! Bartenders were very...
