Horrible experience! I entered just as they opened, and the cafe looked very nice. I am a writer and thought I'd sit down and write a bit in the morning, but the music was very loud (as it is often is when the staff prepares for opening up, which is of course fine). Upon greeting him I asked the owner if he could lower the music a little, as I intended to sit down and write (for instance my favourable impressions of wonderful Boston) ... he then totally snapped at me and told me "We don't have wifi anyway!"... I said I don't need any wifi just some peace if he could lower the music. The owner took a little circular walk, then turned back to me and said "NO - the music stays like this," and then he walked off into the kitchen.... I tried telling him I had come for coffee, and was all the way from Sweden which is the point where he showed me out and told me to go BACK to Sweden... Whatever you do, don't bring your laptop and don't ask the owner to lower the music! I don't know what this man may have been going through on this morning, so I won't judge, but it ruined my day so I thought I...
Read moreAt the door, you’ll see that this place has an “A” rating for cleanliness. But once you step inside, you might wonder whether that certificate was photocopied from somewhere else. It's clean, sure – but... The decor looks like the final hours of a clearance sale at a second-hand shop. And not a particularly good second-hand shop either. Then you get to the ordering counter and meet the owner. He's a real character. I mean that neutrally – some people will love him, others... maybe not so much. At this point, like us on our first visit, you might be tempted to turn around and walk out. But wait – keep reading. Because the food is incredible. Not just for the (relatively) low U.S. prices, but in general. Every single dish we ordered was just fantastic. I've paid double or even triple elsewhere in the U.S. and didn’t get anywhere near this quality. The coffee was great too – and generously sized. So ignore the questionable interior, take the owner as he is, and enjoy a seriously good breakfast at a more...
Read moreRecommended by our hotel to try this place and it didn't disappoint! Very friendly staff who greeted us warmly with big smiles. Coffee was spot on and the menu has a variety of staples that one would enjoy for breakfast and lunch. My husband got the lox bagel and I did the Sarah bagel which had some bacon and eggs on it. We both highly recommend these choices. They had a lot of salmon on the lox bagel so you really feel as though you get your monies worth! As expected in the city, they have the standard street parking. We are walking everywhere so the lack of parking didn't bother us but be prepared you may not see a parking spot. Very intimate dining as it's a small cafe spot. Many were lingering over a morning cup of coffee and chatting it up. All in all, great spot for just about anything. We would come back! I know many mentioned no WiFi here but it's nice to experience a non chain coffee shop. So that didn't...
