Stay away from this place. Go anywhere else in the area for food. Service is a laughable joke. I now know why this was the only place without an hour long wait for lunch. We were told by the hostess outside that if we wanted to sit inside to speak to the host inside. There was no host/hostess inside. After standing around for several minutes we chose to seat ourselves in the bar area. At the time there was only 2 other tables seated in the bar area, a table of 4 and a man by himself. The bartender was the one who actually came over to take a drink order, about 10 minutes after we sat down. We ordered water and received it another 10 minutes later. It was never refilled for the entire meal. The first 20 minutes we were seated, it was apparent that the bartender was alone with NINE separate waiters/waitresses placing never-ending alcohol orders for the several tables seated outside. The bartender tried her best to keep up with the ridiculous demand all on her own, while also being left to service the tables in the bar area. I counted literally 9 wait staff, 2 hosts, and presumably an owner or manager that saw us sitting and waiting and walked right past us. We were sitting at an empty table with a wiggly toddler, no menu, no drinks, no food, I mean come on. We ordered simple food off the lunch menu assuming it would come out at a decent pace. It was an hour. We waited an hour for fish and chips and a sandwich. Overall we were here for an hour and a half, with one glass of water each on a hot day, and we were only spoken to twice, for said water and food order. They dropped off our plates in complete silence. We watched 3 tables walk out, including a table that was waiting on their check for their beers for 30 minutes. Another table came up to us asking if the food was good (assuming we had eaten since our table was clear) and we told them it had been 45 minutes and we hadn't seen food or a refill, they then left. The 3rd party came in, stood around waiting to be seated not realizing the hostess had walked past them twice to go upstairs. They left shortly thereafter. I actually have positive things to say about the food, but this is the worst customer service I've ever received in a restaurant and they don't deserve any praise whatsoever. Read moreLet me preface by saying my fiancé and I are both industry workers in Boston, have been for years. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because my drink was tasty. We went here with a group of 9 because their sister restaurant didn’t have any space available (which we found out after they told us we could sit down so we had to get back up to go to the other restaurant. The manager also asked us if we were Shirley the actual reservation- obviously not…). Once seated the manager told us that the menu was two sided and condescendingly said that if we can’t find the drinks or food we’re on the wrong side. We then waited 30 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and it ended up being a support staff who took our order- it’s a good thing because we were about to leave. Then while waiting 20 more minutes for our drinks and fries we had 4 different people ask us if we were ready to order and they just kept bringing us water. The guy who was supposed to be our server walked past our table 4 times before stopping to ask us if we wanted to order. When we finally got our drinks they forgot our shots and we had already gotten our food. One of the other managers even said to us that they were short staffed so they apologize for the service… you should never admit that. Truly some of the worst service I have ever had. Read moreWe had a big party of 12 for late afternoon. I called to make a same-day reservation in the early afternoon and left a message requesting a confirmation call back. Two and a half hours later, we called again and reached someone (we had not heard back). The staff was kind but the service was quite horrible. The waiter must have been new because that’s the only understandable reason I can think of. He was extremely inattentive and we were there at a “dead” time of day, so we were his only table. He didn’t refill our empty waters or offer other refills. He forgot to put in my order because everyone received their food except me, and after checking in, it took 15 mins. to get my meal. By that time, everyone else was finished eating. They kindly waived my dish and offered me a dessert. I appreciated the gesture to help make up for the mishap.
