So let's acknowledge some positives here because star ratings is a little vague compared to the reason why it got them to begin with. First the positives. Atmosphere is pretty dope. I think its pretty cool to find a hi-fi lounge if only a little bit confusing why you can't go and sit to listen but I'm not going to complain as the music was great and vibes are awesome. Great looking date spot if you are looking for a good listening. Service is good enough. Not in a bad way just there's not much more that could be done because they are doing the best that can be expected. Good stuff.
Alright so here's why I'm giving it 2 stars. It's mostly the food. As far as presentation goes, great look. Can't complain. I've also not had much from here since I already was disappointed from what I ordered. Just a steak tostada. So please don't let this be the reason you don't try it or other meals on the menu. Firstly tostadas are a pretty fancy chip with topping dish so messing that up is near impossible. That being said the first bite was actually really cold. Like out the fridge cold. Now I don't expect it to be a hot dish to fend the cold away but at least the meat and cheese. Like that's pretty hard to mess up. I thought it as a simple mistake that someone simply forgot to warm up the meat and cheese. So I let my bartender know and they went back to get a new one. Again knowing this isn't supposed to be some fresh off the pan hot dish I was expecting it to be decently warm or at least the meat be reheated properly. Either in a pan or hell a microwave would have been more than acceptable. But no. The second time it was mildly warm. Something I would have thought as a dish just sitting out to cool down. Ultimately I decided not to send it back because I figured at this point they couldn't just warm it up after I made it clear that the dish was cold the first time and didn't want to be a complaining customer. The bartender didn't ask if it was better or check for a first bite either but then again I guess he trusted the cook did it right. Maybe the dish was hot in his hand or something. I'm not going to sit here and blame the bartender but I've worked in the service industry before for a way less fancy place and even I learned to do some pretty basic checks for quality. Either way the food sorta bum me out and ultimately made me not want to eat here again. I don't like saying bad things but I'd probably tell friends great place to listen to music, maybe grab a few drinks for the experience but...
Read moreDisappointing. The first time I came here I had a wonderful visit. The bartender was warm and attentive. I loved my drink. The DJ was lovely.
This time was very weird and standoffish. Vibes are off indeed. First, my reservation got cancelled because “the bar was closed for the week”. After a little telephone tag, it was later reinstated but I declined and thought I might come as a walk-in later in the evening. I did just that. When I arrived, the bartender (not the same one as the first time) completely ignored me. Not a “hi”, “I’ll be right with you”, or any kind of acknowledgment for 10 mins. Meanwhile, several people got served who arrived after me. I noticed another gentleman who was overlooked for service (side note: I do not assume there was any racial malice in the bartender’s actions, but it is a weird coincidence that both the overlooked gentleman and myself were Black). The bar was also very wet and had empty glasses which were clearly not mine but were not taken away. Again, I noticed another party get their bar area cleaned, but my area was left neglected. I left as that’s not the kind of service I expect. I let the hostess know my experience (she was great!) and she got the manager. He said he hopes next time they can do better but after the reservation cancellation fiasco and the rude bartender, I don’t think there will be a next time. There’s many cocktail bars in Boston with friendly staff who will treat you like...
Read moreHey! I was here earlier tonight and as much as I wanted to enjoy the awesome live music I could not. My boyfriend and I went to the hostess stand and he went to pay with card (he’s a server he pays mostly in cash and didn’t have the time to load up his card) and it declined. My boyfriend was the first to notice and I made a lighthearted joke saying that I could get admission for us but then one of the hostesses went too far and said I should “go find a man with more money inside the bar”. I let it go at the time because I was so in shock I did not know how to navigate what had just happened, but this is absolutely unacceptable. We then went into the bar and couldn’t even enjoy ourselves because we were too busy thinking about that extremely insensitive comment. I paid $15 ($18 with tip) for a tequila shot that wasn’t even served in a shot glass, spend around 3 minutes trying to dance the awkwardness off, then left back to our room. I understand the hosts are young and it was purely a mistake but this can not happen again. I am extremely upset with my experience here, I want a refund, I will never recommend this place to anybody, and I will not be...
