Take this from a Californian. Don’t eat here. The customer service here is horrible. Find better authentic Mexican food elsewhere. If you’re in the Boston area I recommend Herrera’s Mexican grill, which is a quick ten minute walk from this place. I came in and asked for their breakfast menu, and the cashier told me they didn’t have a breakfast menu that they only served burritos and breakfast tacos. Next I asked if they had champurrado, and the cashier laughed at me and said only Mexicans order this drink. What the hell does that even mean? I am Mexican American. Am I supposed to be ashamed of my heritage ? After ordering, me and my fiancée went to go eat by the pier and were wholly disappointed in this restaurant’s consideration of Mexican food. The chorizo was burnt and brown. A real Californian knows that chorizo is delicious and red not burnt and brown. So all this is to say that go to Herrera’s for all your Mexican food cravings. And stay away from this deaf tone place.

Response to owner:

By the way, that man in the video standing next to me is my fiancée. What? Have you never seen an interracial couple before. As for your accusations and attempt to discredit me and my review, your daughter did laugh at me. Your refusal to acknowledge my complaint speaks to your lack of customer service. Instead of writing such long comments maybe you should invest your energy in better customer service and better Mexican food. I don’t even know who Beatriz is. If you are referring to the Beatriz who came to your restaurant 5 months ago, I have some news for you. I don't know that woman. Not all Mexicans are related.

And yes, me and my fiancee were happy until we tasted the food. Just because we were happy does not mean that we were happy with the service and food. And yes my fiancee is a gentleman. Thank you for seeing that, and just because he was nice to your daughter does not mean that he or I liked the food or the service. I am a lady and my husband is a gentleman. Don't expect us to make a scene for your daughter. If your daughter forgets her place, I assure you that we won't. Don't expect us to get in a tumble down fight like some commoners to make a point. We know our place. We are not going to fight with a server. And please do not try to accuse me of trying to steal Marzipan candy. If you watch your video you will see that I picked the candy and my fiancee paid for it because after all he is...

EDIT: In response to the restaurants reply to my original post, it is very unprofessional to blatantly accuse me of lying. Not sure exactly who it was we spoke to but whoever the individual was had to have been in some sort of management position as she was sitting at the desk in the front and was providing direction to other staff members. Clearly whoever responded remembered us since they mentioned that not all of us spoke fluent Spanish. Coming from a predominantly Mexican community we love to support any small buisness and restaurants whenever we can. My review was not intended to hurt the small business but sometimes it is important to inform others of the truth. Your comment goes to show the quality of service we received. I hope you all strive to improve this rather than continue to attack reviewers.

My family and I were visiting Boston and decided to stop by this place for a quick burrito. My sister and I got a burrito to split so we asked for a knife. The owner got upset with us and lectured us for 10 mins about how that is disrespectful to her food. She said the “juices” would run out of the burrito. My sister and I decided that it wasn’t worth it and went back to our apartment and cut it. When I tell you this was the DRIEST burrito ever it didn’t even fall apart. I gave two stars because the burrito was pretty good but the owner was very hostile. Didn’t know asking to cut a burrito in half was such an issue. Based off of the reviews it shows that the owner is not trying to be less aggressive. Next time we visit we will not be returning to this restaurant nor...

We are visiting from Miami. We saw a show on TV that said this restaurant serves great Authentic Mexican food. When we arrived we noticed this was not a restaurant. This is a to go place. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. We ordered three burritos. They were all made with Carnitas. The meat did not taste like carnitas or any other meat that I am familiar with. It was also did not seem fresh and the ingredients did not have the consistency and the quality of what an authentic Mexican food has. We noticed the food was bad from the first bite we took out of our burrito. We stopped eating at that point. Both bottled sodas we ordered were flat and the service was terrible. When we approached by one of the servers, I quietly asked her to please ask her boss for a refund Because the food was not satisfactory.. The owner came out and started yelling at us In front of everyone “if you are not a chef you have no opinion, get the hell out of my store I don’t need your business.” All she needed to do was give me a refund and move on with her day in a professional manner. The owner acted very aggressively. I wonder how the staff is treated if this is how she reacts just based on one simple incident. The owner went completely crazy. At the end as we walked out, she flipped her middle finger at my friend.

The only reason why am writing this incident is because she told me not to write it. This business owner needs to learn how to be professional and sell quality food. The food should...

On May 4th, in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo, two friends and I went to Villa Mexico for lunch. It was my first time there. It was *awesome*. The staff, particularly Momma King's daughter, were visibly stressed; I imagine that this is a *particularly busy* day for them, and the daughter was atypically snapping at the staff and customers. I just stayed out of the way and enjoyed the show. When I made eye contact with some of the cooks, we'd just grin. We arrived at about 11:45, beating most of the rush, although there were about eight people waiting for their orders. One friend ordered a burrito bowl w/o rice, the other a burrito, and I ordered two tacos - the Tinga (shredded chicken in a smokey red chile sauce) and the Campechano (a combination of meats, probably beef and pork). The burrito took the most time to prepare, so plan accordingly. The burrito bowl was up the quickest, followed by my tacos. We all enjoyed our meals. I thought the tacos were *excellent*. Full of fresh ingredients and flavor. I liked them even more because they are $3.99 each on Fridays, instead of $5.99 like every other day. Oh, and as the other reviewers have noted, Momma King is the best. She was warm and welcoming, joyful, genuine, and dear. Please don't let the start of my review prevent you from trying this place - everyone has tough days. Go for the food and to say "hi" to Momma King.

Stopped in for a lunch after a morning of walking around Boston all day. All of the corporate lunchers were permeating the streets during their break. I couldn’t decide between poke and here. I ultimately decided to try a mole chicken burrito, nice rice, add guac. IT WAS THE BEST BURRITO I’ve had in a min. It was not spicy, (which I like) and the mole was so juicy and sweet. I charged up and finished that bad boy on the the rest of my journey. Highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican food in Boston. The workers were stellar as well.

I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday and was very impressed! I had the spicy mole chicken burrito with guacamole. It was probably the best burrito I've had in Boston. The flavors were rich and balanced, and I really loved the taste of the grilled tortilla surrounding it. Their outdoor patio is really nice. I'm always looking for places where I can eat outdoors. I have had friends rave about this place ever since they moved to this location from Beacon Hill, and I'm glad I finally tried it. I will definitely be back!
