Worst customer service experience of my life. First, my daughter's food was wrong. Fine, they brought out the right meal a few minutes later (no apology or anything but whatever). What really got us though, is after we finished our food we asked our server if the kids could get Jr. Root beer floats to go. She said yes, and proceeded to disappear for 30 minutes. We never got a ticket or saw her again, so rather than just walking out, we did the right thing and went to the counter to tell them what happened. The manager found the server, and the server came over and asked if we still wanted the floats, assuring us she could have them made quickly. I said sure, and watched her go ring them in, and return with our ticket. I turned and told the cashier, "Seriously? You're charging us for the root beer floats? We ordered them a half hour ago." She got the manager who said, "So, you don't want them?" I responded, "well of course they wanted them, but I'm not going to pay for them. We've been waiting half an hour." So she yelled over to the server, "They don't want them!" and removed them from our ticket. Not a single apology, no attempt to make our negative experience right. Nothing. Root beer floats are $1.49 and we ordered two of them. Read moreI have never been treated so rudely. I couldn't believe that the hostess said that there was nowhere for our family to sit when half the store was empty. There are 7 of us,5 kids, 2 adults. Ended up having to split up the family to get served. The server was nice, but absolutely no effort from the hostess. This is a tourist town (Branson), right in the strip. How completely rude and indifferent this hostess is. I'm appalled. I won't be coming back ever. This is a service industry and the hostess was not only unhelpful and unwilling but also somewhat hostile, like I was inconveniencing her at her job which I still am just utterly shocked about. Everyone has a bad day, but you don't take it out on Customers. It's unfortunate that one hostess had to ruin the experience for all of us. The food took forever to come out, we had been at the beach all day and we're very hungry, especially the kids. The only reason we even stayed was because we had a gift card and the actual waitress was nice. Definitely wasn't her fault. If I knew the name of the hostess,I would complain to her supervisor. I should have complained while we were there, but we just wanted to leave. There were other people in there with their tables pushed together, and there were several tables available to do that. Read moreOur daughter made an online order and told Steak 'n Shake that I was going to pick up the order for her. Went and picked up the order, got it back home and found out that there were supposed to be 3 shakes and 1 unsweetened tea from that pickup which were obviously missing. I called to mention that they did not give me their drinks. I asked if they would be able to provide a refund for the drinks. They explained they could not give a refund so I'd have to drive back to pick up the drinks.
I drive back and ask to speak with the manager and he proceeds to tell me that it's not their responsibility that I didn't make sure the entire order was complete when I picked up the food. I explained I was not made aware of the contents of the order, only that I was to be there at a specific time, to retrieve the order.
The manager then turned around and told me it's "common sense" for me to know the order when I'm coming to pick it up. I find that entirely hypocritical when a food establishment that is handing off an order, with an entire receipt telling the server what is supposed to be ready for the pickup, doesn't make sure the hand-off is done properly.
