I give it 2 stars only for being a few blocks from home. But the service leaves a lot to be desired. My husband and I wanted to grab something quick so we opted for Bueno in Catoosa. We placed our order...a very simple order and grabbed some sauces and other condiments while we waited for our food. The restaurant wasn't busy so we figured we wouldn't have to wait long. WRONG! After 20 minutes I asked the person at the counter how much longer it might be. This is when he informed me that when he took our order he had forgotten to to tell us that they were out of refried beans! So in other words, after 20 minutes of waiting we find out our order can not even be completed! We got a refund and left. We tried again about a month later...running short on time again and both of us hungry. They got his order right but gave me only one small item...which I did not order. We didn't have time for me to reorder so I ended up leaving there still hungry. NO Bueno NO more! Well... We decided to try again. It's been awhile and we thought things might have gotten better. Wrong. We stood at the counter waiting to place our order for about 7 minutes. No one came to help us. An employee did walk behind the counter to get a mop, but avoided eye contact with both of us. We left and went to Taco Bell... Which is another horror story on it's own! Lol.
Decided to try Bueno in Catoosa again. Still sorry we did. The place was filthy. We finally found a table that has less food splattered on it. The booths are so worn out the insides are showing. The salsa bar was so dirty from spills that no one seemed to clean up. The soda machine didn't work right. It was just an all...
Read moreOh, how I wish we had Taco Bueno near my home, in Michigan! I lived in Tulsa & BA for (a combined total of) 5 years, from '99-'04, during which I became, virtually, addicted to their food.
My husband is an OK native. Our son/grandsons lives in OKC, plus, we have family in the Ada area (sadly, Ada doesn't have a TB). Thankfully, we go back to OK for visits so, whenever possible, I get my TB 'fix'. :-)
In regard to this particular store, when we pass through Catoosa at lunchtime or dinnertime, I make it a point to stop here to eat. I can't speak to the the drive-thru because we eat inside; it's quite a bit more difficult to eat Mexican food while driving than it is to eat most other fast food.
As for dining inside, I've found it to be clean and well maintained. We've never had an issue with the quality of the food, nor have we had problems with our orders being incorrect, and the employees have always been friendly and efficient.
It appears to me that the majority of the poor reviews are not pre-COVID. I'd be willing to bet that, after the country gets back to some semblance of normalcy, the reviews will improve, particularly, since the majority of the low-scored reviews are due to either the store's inconsistent hours or long drive-thru waits (both of which will, more than likely, also,...
Read moreThis is the worst place I've ever been to eat at. For the last 4 times I went, always through the drive-thru, my order was wrong and I was overcharged. The last two times I went I tried to talk to the man at the window, but always got no response. I thought maybe he was hard of hearing. The last time I went he didn't respond to me I tried to call the business, but every time the phone was picked up it would go to a busy tone. I decided to go inside the store to talk to the manager. When the manager came up, it was the same man at the drive-thru. He refused to even let me tell him my story. He told me he deserved respect. Respect is earned. He didn't care what I had to say. I tried to call the corporate office. The same thing happened with the phone. You can not contact anyone at Taco Bueno. Not even the corporate office. I filed a complaint online. I was told someone would get back with me. It's been over a week and nobody has contacted me online or by phone, which i requested. I used to love Taco Bueno. That was 45 years ago. Now, they have no customer service, and the food has gone downhill, and the building are running down. I will never go back to any Taco Bueno restaurant again. It probably won't matter because I have a feeling they will be out of business...
