First of all, I would like to say that this place has an excellent menu, onion rings are some of the best in Tulsa not to mention the chicken-fried steak dinner. I am delighted with the quality of the food.
Now, for my two-star review. I have been eating here as a regular customer for about 4 years on my lunch hour. I have even brought my family to eat here a few times. The food can be great, but the quality of service has gone downhill. I also have been a generous tipper as practice, but not so much in recent months. When I go into this establishment, I take my seat and look forward to the service. Lately, when I have gone I am greeted, but, the follow-through has been substandard. I get my meal and in the past, a couple of checkups would happen as the service staff would pass by. That is still happening, but for some reason, I am getting overlooked. Today, I had lunch there. After receiving my meal, I needed extra ranch dressing because my salad was a bit dry. It took about ten minutes of my time to try to flag the person waiting on me to notice I was needing some attention. I asked for the ranch and then I waited and waited, ...no ranch dressing. Finally, after my lunch hour was coming to a close, I went to the kitchen myself and asked for it in person. Went back to my table and was there long enough for my service person to hand me my ticket. When I informed her I had to fetch the ranch dressing for myself, she laughed at me and walked away. I was not amused, nor did I get to enjoy my meal. I did give her a 10% tip for what service I had received and now I am even regretting that.
I know people have off days, which is why I am writing this review. Sometimes we forget that it is repeated business as a result of good service which makes an...
Read moreBar food is not my favorite. The menus are usually limited. The deep-fried whatever only tastes better the more you drink. True.
The menu lists a decent variety of oleaginous fried finger foods which traditionally require a generous accompaniment of alcoholic solvents for proper digestion. There is a darn good-looking offering of hand held, bread and meat combinations listed. And, something for everyone; attractive salads. Just about anyone could find a desirable appetizer or meal from The Lodgeâs menu.
A pub is a fitting establishment for the consumption of fish and chips; my choice. English style as proclaimed by the menu. Guinness battered cod with unique and tasty jalapeno hush puppies and fresh cut fries. Tarter sauce comes with the meal, but a good malt vinegar is my preferred condiment. Nicely prepared. Delicious.
My wife picked the Blackened Tuna Salad. A properly encrusted, seared chunk of rare tuna on mixed greens, avocado, orange slices, slivers of celery and carrots, crunchy wonton chips, and finished with a ginger vinaigrette dressing. A surprisingly delicious well-prepared salad. Good quality, fresh, enjoyable! Missy was our excellent server. The Lodge has a warranted 4-star rating on Yelp

Read moreFrequent this place almost every week. Generally the service and food is good. However, today we had Josh as a server and he was very rude, from my perspective for no reason. I had just arrived and sat down he came by to take our orders, I told him my drink order and that I would like to make a to go order. He asked for the to go order. I said veggie quesadillas, which is what I order every time I go (once a week). He just stared at me, and one of the folks from my group jokingly said, "I don't think they have that here" Josh responded with "We don't she is just inventing something." I apologized and tried to explain my order, meanwhile he shook his head and wrote on the pad. He then asked our table if we wanted anything else and after a few seconds stated "What drinks do you want, I can't stand here all day."
After that I asked for my check and paid before he brought the to go order , yes I tipped 20%. He brought out a quesadilla with chicken, I don't eat meat which is why I asked for a veggie Quesadilla. I took my order and left, did not make a scene or issue any complaint.
I understand the lodge is currently short staffed and I made an adjustment to a menu item. However, Josh could have simply said we do not offer that or taken even 5 seconds to ask me to point out what I was asking for on the menu. Instead, he was incredibly rude to me and the entire...
