I recently had the pleasure of visiting Le Macaron French Pastries in Chapel Hill, and I must say, it was a bit long, but I was very pleased with my experience. Pretty disappointed. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, since this little place is on main street in Chapel Hill, and they're pedaling to college kids who love anything with sugar in it.

I made an online order, which was made in a timely fashion. Love that. However, everything else was pretty disappointing.

1. I received 2 incorrect items in my order (my bad, I should have checked the bag), and missed one of my items. So paid for something that wasn't accurately delivered, and had other parts of my order placed incorrectly.
2. The eclairs were cold, rigid, and overly sweetened.
3. The pastry was dense and rigid; it's not the light fluffy thing an eclair is meant to be, but a dense thick layering. Since it was served cold, there was no crisp from a well baked thing, but just the density of a cold bread, that had been near moisture for too long.
4. The filling: Rather than creamy, it was almost like frozen ice cream, rather than the thick custard that's key to avoid the pastry getting soggy.

Their macarons are absolutely divine, light, delicate, and bursting with flavor. The bubblegum macaron is a huge hit, especially with kids, and every flavor I’ve tried has been a masterpiece. Their shakes are my personal favourite, perfectly blended, smooth, and refreshing. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick treat or planning a relaxed afternoon to get your assignments done, this place never disappoints.
