By far the WORST experience I've had in a resturuant . Went with a party of 10 (had made plans with FUJI weeks in advance and a few memebers showed up 30 minutes early to make sure everything would go smoothly. We told our server Cory from the begining how we were going to split the check (and sat next to the person we would be on the same check with). We placed drink orders at 6:40 and were informed that happy hour would be ending in 20 minutes do if we wanted anything it would have to be now. At 7:15 most of our party had drinks and the 3 members who showed up late placed there drink orders as well as appetizers and food for the entire table. When our drinks were brought (most of us had split sake) we had no sake cups and asked for some. Our sever snarkly said yeah how many do you need, 50? At 8:05 with 3 people in our party without drinks, all of us low on water, and no appetizers down one of our members went to the bar to ask for our drinks and they finally arrived, missing one of the drinks that had been ordered. Part of our food and part of our appetizers began ariving around 8:30. My food was brought out with my appetizers and one of our members was never given his appetizers because it wasnt put in. My food came out wrong (I have celiac and was very specific about it with my server and got 2 rolls and sashimi. My 2 rolls showed up on the same plate as the person across from me who had eel sauce and tempura on their rolls, both if which I was allergic too. Very upset with the rude server, long wait times, and messed uo orders several of us alerted the manager of our concerns and asked for our checks. Our server returns and informs us the computer system is down and has to ask all of us what we ordered (even though he had written all of it down earlier). I had my cheapest roll (7 dollars taken off) and the person with the messed up appetizer (who was also celebrating her 25th birthday) got hers taken off. Nearly 25 minutes later (23 to be exact) our checks arrive and one of our members was charged for a drink they ordered but never got and for an appetizer that they never ordered. We also noticed a large party service charge on the bill which was on any of the menus or told to us when making the reservation or prior to being seated. The icing on top of the cake was from a friend who was a former employee there who told me our server Cory and the manager were related and hence the gratuity charge. Also to clarify, there were 4 other total tables in the resturaunt (all small parties with 2 servers and 3 bartneders on) and 9 of the 10 of us either are currently servers or at some point and understand that especially during covid it can...
Read moreAbysmal. Our dining experience started off with waiting for the server to greet us for about 30 minutes. Next, it took another 20 minutes to finally get a glass of water and to finally order a drink. We were seated right next to the bar (party of 5), where not a single heater worked. The bartender was running behind the bar freaking out because the soda guns did not work and he was loosing it over the fact that he could not change the channel on TV. A lot of guests at the bar had displeased looks on their faces, which should have been an indication of what we should have expected next. After we ordered, apps arrived promptly. Main course took a bit longer. Apps were outstanding, main course was above average. Overall, the presentation was great as well, but we had no server around to explain what we were served. We were left guessing what was the chef’s choice of fish and what were the rolls. It was virtually impossible to get a second/third round of drinks. Unfortunately, never got any water refilled on the table either. Our server and the bartended seemed to be too busy chatting at the wait station(closet?) as we sat with the pile of dirty dishes and empty glasses in front of us. I guess the staff does not know how to work in the team as bartender blatantly was ignoring us while texting behind the bar in front of other guests shortly after our own server decided to walk past us for the 6th time and disappear again without stopping by the table. She finally came back with a bill that had an error - double ring, which she promised would be taken care of. Then, she came back saying that she was not able to take it off since we ate the plate (dirty dish pile still in front of us, no water, no drinks). The explanation arguably made sense: we sure did eat the nigiri as we did not want to waste food that we thought(!) we ordered. Not as if we were given any alternative or saw our server when the food was dropped. Conveniently, she turned up only when we finished. The manager had no decency of touching the table to address this. The poor service or lack thereof ruined the night. This place is quite small, so I have no idea how the staff got weed out of their minds here. Obviously, whoever is managing this place is incompetent and has no idea what Southern hospitality is. Even though the food is pretty good, I will avoid this restaurant at all costs. There are plenty of alternatives with lesser prices and much more elevated...
Read moreSpending our last evening in Charleston tonight. After a wonderful long weekend, this dinner was a straight s*$@ show. Our waitress was incompetent at best and seemed like she may have been on the job for 2 or 3 days. Want someone to bring you some water and take a drink order...please enjoy your wait......and it went down hill from there. I wanted a beer. How about a stella? Nope, a Kirin it is then. 10 minutes later..."uh...we cant have glass on the roof." No cans either huh? Ok, I will have a whiskey sour. Well after watching the bartender have a temper tantrum while making my drink, I new it would be tasty. I tell you what folks...that drink was so dang good, a drunk four year old would have a hard time topping it. I took one sip and left the rest sitting on the table while we awaited the food. About 25 minutes after ordering, and after prompting the waitress, my wife got her salad. A time later the food came which we requested boxes for immediately, as we brought the food back to our hotel room to eat. We waited on our food so long it got dark out, and they had to turn a spotlight on pointing directly over my wife's shoulder, and into my face, like I was expected to perform on stage. We got a good laugh out of this. People, take this review for what it's worth, one couples experience. 100 bucks for some to-go quality hibachi and sushi. I would gladly pay 3x that much for a proper dining experience for my wife and I. Before we left the waitress walked up and said "we have food runners." I totally understand...
