I ordered from the New Peking in November 2024. My first impression was the all too common older restaurant that really needs an update, or at least some work. You order from behind a plastic window that separates the kitchen and counter area from what is considered a dining room. There are a good amount of booths, it’s very dark, and as earlier stated, needs work. I ordered the General special. That came with fried rice, soup and an egg roll. I think it was about $13. I feel that was a pretty fair price considering. I also grabbed two cans of soda for another $3. Although I didn’t need the second can, my total for dinner was only about $16 total. The food itself was okay. It wasn’t bad, but I definitely have had much better. But it did the job. I couldn’t eat it all. It wasn’t bad to eat. And it was pretty cost effective. I was only visiting the area and will not become a regular customer. But if back in the area, I would consider New Peking again. It’s not the best I’ve had. But is far from the worst. Like I said, it did the job.

Ordered through doordash and our large pork fried rice was missing from our order, beef and broccoli container was half full and paid $12.95 for that. Other containers of items ordered were also not as full as all other Chinese takeout we've ever ordered. My bag was still sealed when it arrived so it wasn't a driver issue with things missing, it was the restaurant itself. You definitely get a better value at other Chinese restaurants because you get way more for your money. I've included a photo of exactly how empty the $12.95 beef and broccoli was. Ridiculous! I will not be ordering from New Peking restaurant ever again.

Overall the food is good. The wonton soup broth wasn't as good as others I've had but was OK. The wontons themselves were almost entirely gummy wonton wrapper with little meat inside. The general tso chicken was flavourful and had a nice chicken wing /pork rind flavor almost like they cooked it in the skin. Only complaint there was the chicken on the inside was very dry. Pork fried rice was decent. Would have been better with a lot more onions

my ranking for these types of places focuses 80% on food quality and value, and 20% on all other areas. ordering was relatively painless, and it took 45 minutes to get to me a mere few blocks away. 15/20%. i ordered 2 wanton soup, large, and one egg roll. egg roll was cold, but tasted exceptionally good once heated. unfortunately the whole reason i ordered, the soup, was neigh worthless. the soup broth along with the wantons were 100% completely bland. i do not believe there was a single dash of seasoning. for comparison, the china wok in summerville has PERFECT wanton soup. one must go out of their way to cause me to not like food. im very easy to please, but if you are serving food, season it at the very least. that soup tasted like dishwater with tasteless wantons. i do not know of the rest of the menu, but i do not have high expectations for it. cost was slightly higher that other similar places. value and taste sections get a 30/80% for these...

Ordered from here at 9pm. It showed they closed at 10:45. I ordered 4 items in the menu a total of $37.00. I DID NOT RECIEVE my order until 10:35 and ALL OF IT WAS MISSING. All I got was NOODLES!!! The driver got a 17% tip and from me and ran off and sped off before I could reach him to correct this situation! I called the restaurant and they said THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ANY OF IT AND TO NEXT TIME WE EAT THERE LET THEM KNOW AND WE MIGHT GET SOMETHING DONE WITH OUR NEXT ORDER!!!! the place is now CLOSED and won’t answer! So I’m STARVING AND OUT $37 that I could have used for food somewhere else!! DO NOT BUY HERE THEY HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES I HAVE SEEN WHEN CLOSE TO...
