The Advertisement made us laugh: “ Opening your mind and palate to a creative craft tap concept featuring over 28 local craft beers, 8 on tap, rotating frequently, will delight your culinary senses. “- this place is an absolute Culinary Disaster for Downtown Charlotte
As a frequent diner with discerning tastes, my partner and I recently had a disappointing experience at the Q Tavern, located downtown Charlotte attached to an overpriced mid class hotel. Our anticipation quickly turned to dismay as we sampled their grilled chicken sandwiches, accompanied by sweet potato fries and coleslaw.
The menu and quality of food presented a complete embarrassment. The sandwiches were reminiscent of old dried up fast-food fare, but sadly, even that comparison would be generous. Each element seemed to have been sourced from the lowest bidder: dry buns seemingly pulled from a Walmart bag, two measly slices of fake cheese awkwardly microwaved atop a thin, pre-made Cajun chicken breast that could have doubled as a Sahara desert prop, and a solitary pickle plucked from a jar resting on wilted lettuce leaves.
To compound the disappointment, the sweet potato fries appeared to have been subjected to the same microwave treatment, rendering them limp and lifeless. As someone who typically avoids condiments, we found ourselves reaching for ketchup, mustard, and mayo just to choke down the dried-out sandwiches.
Considering the exorbitant prices charged by the hotel—ranging from $300 to $400+ per night—a culinary disgrace of this magnitude is unacceptable. With such high expectations and a prime location, Q Tavern fails to deliver even basic quality in its offerings.- From food to customer service and appearance of employees. Not to say 2 of the employees were loudly offering astrological readings to a bar client making the overall atmosphere obnoxious.
In conclusion, if you find yourself downtown and craving a satisfying meal, steer clear of this place. Your taste buds...
Read moreSince we had to pay for a $395 hotel, AND parking on top of it we assumed that the restaurant inside would have good food and service. We were wrong. One of our straws came to the table without a wrapper, ok fine. We ordered, two burgers and the Cajun chicken pasta. The food finally came after what felt like an eternity. The pasta and fries were so salty it could have melted the ice off a sidewalk. I’m talking course salt allll over the fries. My husband asked for bbq sauce, but I guess the lady decided he didn’t need any because she came back out and just looked at him on the way over to talk to some other guests. We asked our server for bbq sauce again and I sent back my pasta because I’m not paying $20 for soupy pasta that has a pound of salt in it and chicken drier than the Sahara desert. Meanwhile, we all ran out of water trying to stay hydrated from all the salt on our plates. Luckily, I had a bottle of water in my purse. The burgers were the only decent part of this meal and I am not sure if they were actually good or they were just really hungry. Finally got my replacement meal, the flounder sandwich. It was soggy and a huge mess and tons of salt on those fries too, but at this point I’m done and just want to stop being hungry. I ate what I could,we tracked down our server to cash out and now just super disappointed with the whole experience. We should have just went to Wendy’s...
Read moreI stay at the Fairfield Suites for work on a regular basis and I eat here everytime I stay at the hotel. The reason I’m leaving this review is to make sure I highlight to management the terrible customer service provided by Chelsie, one of the waitresses. I walked in and I asked if I sit anywhere she just pointed at a table. As I was waiting for the menu she simply came by and threw it on the table and asked, “what do you want?” I got up and told her I’ll be taking it to go, I didn’t want to deal with that customer service much less have to tip for it. As she’s finalizing my to go order I ask how long it’ll be and she throws her arms up and says, beats me and walks away. Not sure if this lady understands the customer service oriented work she does, but someone should remind her. The food is good, regular bar food. But the terrible customer service drives the entire experience...
