Discovery Beach Cafe — Restaurant in Cocoa Beach

We did a day trip to Cocoa Beach during our vacation to Orlando. First thing, this little cafe is tucked away in a hotel, tiny little corner, basically the definition of “hole in the wall.” It was delicious though. We’re from the West Coast and so we have an idea of what we want when we go to the beach. However, if you’re from the West Coast, don’t expect typical west coast food. My husband and kids got clam chowder and it was just slightly different than what we’re used to, my husband described it as “white but brothy” and it had more body and flavor. I got Alfredo, and I love that they put enough sauce on it. Also, on the west coast we’re used to sourdough. There is no sourdough in Orlando as far as we’ve run into, but it did come with some garlic toast. My husband got a steak, and said it was delicious because of the garlic butter on top.

Went for a walk on the beach today. Parked next to this outdoor cafe and decided to eat before leaving the area. Best decision ever. I had a hot dog with mustard, relish and onions and curley fries. You might think that anyone can fix this simple meal. But, you would be wrong. This was one of the most delicious lunches I've had in a long time. The vibe was casual, mostly bathing suit attire. The lady at the counter did a great job of keeping everyone happy. This was an excellent experience and one that I will repeat, with family members in tow. They also have an indoor restaurant for those who want to get a breather...

I had the BLT sandwich with the freshly cut french fries. I can only say that it was an awesome BLT sandwich and with the fried egg, it was phenomenal. The fries were fresh and crisp. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and finished it in time before the common brief rainstorm.

As a PSA, since it's the offseason, they are currently only open from Friday-Sunday in September.
