Good tiki bar and a welcome addition to the Colorado Springs area - nice to finally have a tiki bar here!
Happy hour prices are great, the drinks are good, and the staff is very nice.
The decor is pretty good - it doesn't capture the full "escape" vibe that some other bars like Smuggler's Cove have captured but I think it'll get there. Great for just being open 1 year. They have some lightbright boards in the middle with swinging chairs that are a lot of fun to play with. The pond is extraordinary - I haven't seen something that good inside of a restaurant or bar in a very long time - it's super high quality.
There are a lot of places to sit around the bar - lots of different tables and chairs. Definitely good to move around and see which table you like as they are various heights - very clever! All the seats we tried were comfortable.
Music started out great (during happy hour it was a lot of exotica like you expect from a tiki bar) but as the evening went on it lost the tiki bar vibe and felt a lot more like a club. Not my personal favorite thing so I'll throw it out there for you to make your own decision.
Of note: there is no food! Lots all around outside but this is just a cool bar to hang out in. Eat beforehand.
Drinks are pretty good. If you are a casual drink enjoyer then you'll love everything on the menu. If you are looking for more traditional tiki you may be slightly disappointed. Drinks are mostly correct but there are some that aren't and the ingredients are a bit boring (lots and lots of Don Q).
On the night we had: Pina Colada - excellent! One of the best I've had Mojito - solid. Nothing exceptional but good Tiki Punch - far too sweet. If you like sweet you'll probably like this Tsunami Mami - very strong taste of melon. Excellent drink if that's your jam Zombie - very drinkable which is impressive but it felt a bit thin. Not sure what the rum mix is but felt like something was missing. Flavors were super well balanced though Mai Tai (with Smith and Cross instead of Don Q) - Bartender was super nice to replace all the rum with Smith and Cross which made a very funky Mai Tai but I couldn't do the Don Q anymore
4 stars instead of 5 because of the rum selection. The rum selection is extremely limited in the bar and they've chosen to use Don Q for nearly every drink. I imagine this is to cater to local crowds as they had a lot of the "normal" bar stuff and not a lot of rum variety. Would love to see some more variety of rum in the drinks and some more traditional tiki drinks added to the menu (Port au Prince, Hurricane, Daquiri, Missionary's Downfall - maybe rotate the menu occasionally). Some ideas that are missing: rhum agricole from Martinique such as Duquesne Blanc or Rhum JM, more Jamaican rums (affordable Appleton Rum for example), something more full bodied than Don Q (perhaps a Demerara like an El Dorado or Plantation variant) to mix in.

Read moreDrinks are good. However, service was terrible. Upon entering, I asked if we can get a table so we ended up getting seated in the bar until a table is free. 4 guests later, we still haven’t been seated. Went to go ask why we haven’t been seated yet and response was “Because you have been seated and you’re not a priority cause people are waiting outside”. We asked for table to begin with and told us to sit on the bar side until it is available. Then wanted to ask who the manager is to the bartender and his response. He said “it’s not rude and it is a busy establishment and she might of forgotten and she’s my coworker so I’m going to back her up and it is what it is”. After deciding that we were going to leave, she ended up telling us that there is a table now and I responded “we’re okay” then the barista looked at her with an attitude and shook his head and gave me the most attitude response. Drinks are good but this isn’t the first time that we had terrible service and “worker” is not...
Read moreLast night, me and a group went in to celebrate our friend graduating. As soon as we sat down I pulled out the menu with the QR code to see what they had but there were so many choices I was unsure. When our server Samantha came up and took our order I asked her to make me a yummy rum drink and her response was to pull out my phone and look at the QR code but in a way that made me feel stupid. You can tell she was annoyed with us even though we weren’t doing anything wrong. I ended up not getting a drink because it felt awkward at that point and she never asked me what I wanted again. My friends got some drinks and they were honestly so disgusting but as servers ourselves we are never ones to send things back and they just chugged it. Samantha also put autograt on our table which my friends have never gotten while at the tiki bar prior. I’m not sure what her deal was with us but it was super...
