Popped into Yoo Mae during a business trip to Colorado Springs, and blimey, what a cracking dining experience! The host was absolutely top-notch—one of the most attentive I’ve ever come across. The sushi roll selection? Oh, it's a proper feast! They’ve crafted rolls to represent all 50 states of America 🇺🇸—how brilliant is that? The fish? Fresh as a daisy and prepared with such careful skill by the chef—it’s like a little dance of flavours in every bite. Highly recommend giving them a go when you’re in town. Just a heads-up: there’s a 3% surcharge if you’re paying with a credit card. Cheers to great food!

Ordered a salmon bento box and the salmon was a reasonable portion, but the menu advertised it including a salad and what I was served was some chopped iceberg lettuce with a drizzle of ginger dressing. That’s not a salad. I understand lunch specials are supposed be cheap but don’t be cheap with your meal quality! At least include some shredded carrot and/or cucumber. They can’t be that expensive. Not impressed this time, sorry.

Probably the friendliest customer service in all of downtown. Ordered a lunch bowl with beef to go and didn’t wait too long. Flavors were amazing. Gentleman at the counter was friendly, funny, and professional. My only regret was not having time to sit down and order sushi as they have a large array of options for rolls. Will definitely be back!

I read the reviews about this place and for the most part they were very good, but it turned out to be a massive disappointment. For starters, their websites pricing is apparently different now, as I was overcharged by roughly $8-$10 for some of the most unsatisfactory sushi I have ever had. For $25 I received a pitiful Virginia roll (that tasted ok at best, but honestly a little off, so I hope I don't get sick from it and it fell apart immediately) and the yakitori chicken, which (apparently that price jumped from the previously advertised $3.99 to $9+ and the dish had not changed at all according to the site description) was very small and "ok". I called after fighting through half of the "meal" to ask about the overcharge and the gentleman on the phone informed me that I was charged correctly according to their new menu, which was apparently not changed on the website, ie. falsely advertised. Bottom line, the difference should have been comp’d and there should have been some sort of apology for that mistake. Overall, my experience here was rather poor. I will not be visiting them again and I will not be recommending this...

My husband and I checked out this restaurant while out on a date, and it was a good decision. They seemed perhaps a bit short-staffed based on how the one waiter seemed run off his feet, but he definitely didn't let that affect his service. We had lots of fun looking at the various state-themed rolls (I'm from Texas originally - the Texas roll has beef, which is just right), but went with some of the main dishes instead. Everything was very good, the waiter's answers to our questions and his explanations about the different kinds of fish were very helpful. Plus we exchanged some fun conversation. And now I want to know where one can get one's hands on sheep's cheek, since we have had previous good experience with ox cheek and the waiter was raving about the sheep kind... :-) It looked like you could order a variety of more traditional sushi platters, but this is a great place for good food and fun, even...

This place is awesome! Definitely go here if you like trying new and interesting foods. They have older classic rolls as wells as the largest variety of unique rolls I have ever seen. So far everything we have tried has been excellent.

We read all the negative comments before we went in and found some were misleading or wrong. Look on google for their hours as other websites have them listed incorrectly (they have no control over these sites). The hours are weird for typical restaurants but not for higher end restaurants or places like this that require a lot of preparation for meals (it is partly why they are able to offer so much variety and high quality!) Still, it is something to keep in mind when making plans. We have had zero issues with staff and everyone there is incredibly friendly.

I would consider this place in the top ten must visit restaurants in...
