Breakfast Review !
For atmosphere, history, and decor, I recommend the Yelp review of Ryan S. No one could paint a better picture.
We found metered street parking close by. Walked past a small sidewalk patio, into a deep, long pub setting. Warmly greeted, and seated at a clean, sturdy table. Doesn't a sticky, or wobbly table tend to skew your dining experience? Since our caffeine intake had already been satisfied, we went with just water. I can say that the water tasted fine with no offset taste or smell. Great info for your ice mix in libations, and cleaning. The water refills were never requested, because they were never ignored by our server. On Saturday and Sunday they have a drink special on $6 Mimosa, and $4 Bloody Marys. Your server brings you a pint glass with ice and vodka, or a stemless wine glass with champagne. PRO TIP - Be sure to ask for salt on the rim before they add the ice & vodka. Walk past the front dining area to a "Build-Your-Own" spread. (See photos) There are many choices that make this a good value. Shaker tin and bar spoon to get that consistent taste in each sip.
The regulars next to us recommended the hash. It was on my radar, and I was not disappointed. The corned beef brisket is cooked on site for the hash, with redskins, carrots, and scallions. We met Mr. Dempsey, who told us many of the meats are from Falters Fine Meats on Greelawn. The meats were tender, flavorful, and not fatty. Potatoes were forkable tender. My over easy eggs were yolky as ordered. I would have been over the moon if this was served with a spicy brown mustard side. A must try if searching Columbus for true Corned Beef Hash.
My wife loved her Irish Breakfast 2.0 . She was an uncommon clean plater. I sampled her Bread pudding french toast with the Jameson's salted caramel sauce. It was worthy of a moan. Now we have the Brioche Bread pudding dessert to look forward to on a return visit.
A great first showing. We look forward to revisiting with friends, and working our way through more of the menu. Parking and pricing are my only hangups. Luckily everything else overshadows it.

Read moreWe arrived at 11am on November 12th 2017. We ordered our food at 11:10. It is now 12:12 and we sit hungry in the cold backroom. Spirits are low, as well as our supply of hot coffee. It has been 30 minutes since our coffee was refilled. I can feel hunger, starvation, and the chill in my bones setting in. My compatriots are eyeing each other with the look that only famine and hopelessness can create. Who is the weakest? Who shall be the first? These are the questions we must now ask ourselves. 12:15: some of the food has begun to arrive. Our starvation however continues, as forks allude us. 12:19 our forks have arrived. We no longer care that the eggs are near raw, plates are dirty, and biscuits and pancakes have not arrived. 12:21: One member of our party has still not received his food. Due to the hunger we have allowed him to die. His fate may be for the better. The food is sub par and this expedition is cursed. 12:29 a 3rd round of coffee has arrived. 12:31: The GM asked how everything was. "It was not good," said we, he apologized--Bully for the attempt. However, he then blamed his staff--bully to the staff for putting up with the place. A harrowing expedition that ended in infamy. We've learned the Bloody Mary bar is the reason to come. It is $4. We've learned that a nice boiled brunch can be purchased for a small monetary price. Yet, the price may still be too great. What is the cost. What...
Read moreTerrible experience when I went for Jury Duty. I was given 1 hr 30 mins for lunch. Stopped by at exactly lunch hour, it was packed. I was given the sense the regulars are given better service. When I asked the waiter for a to go menu he said “I don’t have any to go menus”. I asked if could order something to go. Anyways, I noticed an empty table and I told waiter I would sit there. In 30 mins he never came over to take my drink order. Bartender did come over and asked if I was helped. I advised I was, as waiter did take my order it didn’t write it down. I was given impression after about 20 minutes he never put my order in. I asked the bartender if I could just put in my order with her, she replied and said she would check if other waiter put in my order. I was never checked on at this point. Waited about 20 more minutes. Still no drink no food. I walked out and went to the mobile food cart by the old courthouse building, there was line and the one single guy cooked still managed to get my food in under 20 minutes. Don’t go if you’re not a regular. I was really upset and made...
