Lived there two years, worst experiences ever. When you first contact them, theyâll respond you quickly, as soon as you gave the deposit, they seem disappeared, no phone calls no emails, they only thing you can do is to wait for them to contact you. And that part is ok, I mean I understand they are busy since the apartment is in the downtown area and many people come in and out looking for them. The first year was ok, because I didnât interact them that much, and the staff other than those in the office seems very nice. It all started in the second year, they made some changes to the staff(but not those in the office), and the new staff doesnât seem as nice as it was before. Ok so thatâs not the main point, the thing that exploded everything is this stupid recyle rule they had(I donât know if thatâs still the case). So we were suppose, and were only allowed to put recycled stuff outside our door every Wednesday and only on that day you can put them outside; and I wasnât very clear about that cuz I put my stuff out earlier in the first year, like on Sunday or Monday, and Iâve seen other people doing that as well so I figured that may be ok to do that. So the first year was ok, nothing happened, and then the second year you know, people move in and move out, there are some new neighbors probably, and it happened, someone on my floor started to mess with my recyle stuff outside my door, pulled (donât want to say kicked cuz never caught it) them down and let them scattered on the floor in the middle of a night, and I was so angry and I wanted to know who did that cuz he/she might do something even worse than that... so I keep getting the boxes outside and wait but I never caught the person, it all happened in the middle of the night. I know this part it was my fault at first, and I shouldâve known the rule clearly, and I couldâve done it better than keep putting them outside. But the reaction the downstair office did was to blame me, and did nothing to the person who might be a potential threat to the whole floor. I donât know maybe Iâm easy to be picked? They might thought that way but I didnât react the way they thought maybe? I argued with them, and I had a pretty bad conflict with them because who knows what that person would do to me, what if something even worse happen, not only my recycle but what if to me? So I fought for my right but they didnât step back as well, and they have more people in their office so they won with no doubts... and after that, their attitudes towards me is like terrible... and one time they even âlostâ my rent check (I preferred gave to them personally instead of inserted it into the box they have, that box was not secure at all, anyone could take checks from that box...), and they wouldnât admit, and they insist that I didnât give them the check... and I was so desperate, felt helpless, and one time I even talked to this security guy during night about this, I donât know why I talked to that guy I guess maybe itâs because of his uniform...but what he told me is to be nice with the people downstairs... I then wrote a complain online, directly to their management company, I donât know if itâs because of this or not, the office manager downstairs left after few weeks, I donât know if they fired her or she couldnât stand this job anymore... and before she left, I went to her one more time for that lost check incident and she yelled at me instead... this time I didnât say anything back... Iâm done with this place just want to go... and few weeks after that, the other lady in that office left as well, and before she left, one time I ran into her in the garage, I glanced at her and had no facial expressions, but I saw she was smiling at me trying to greet. I didnât greet back just walked away... so thatâs it, and before I left (2017) they have the whole management changed, I think the management company was changed to another one, but they still kept one staff from the old crew. I hope everything runs smoothly now, but I would never recommend this place, not at all, it was a total...
Read moreI would advise against living here. I have had so many bad experiences, I will just list SOME of them here (due to google review word limit). I have lived here for about 2.5 years, and it was totally fine until this past year when things started to go downhill.
Let me start this review with the number one issue I have been experiencing since February 2025 up until I moved out in late October. There is a loud, mechanical type banging noise throughout the stack of apartments mine was unfortunately located on that would be loud as could be, often waking me up out of a deep sleep between 8pm-4am, most of the time between the hours of 11pm-4am. Originally, the office said it was a faulty airduct on the roof, but had ârepairedâ it in April (still, it started beginning of February and it took them until April to âfixâ it). The noise did not stop though. I have countless videos I had showed the staff of this awful noise; it was so powerful it was rattling and shaking my windows and the wall. One of their suggestions was to try a white noise machine to help me sleep (WILD response). To anyone reading this review, I cannot even express how bad this banging noise is. I finally had enough this summer, so I reached out to Corporate to go above the leasing office since they didnât seem to care to look too hard into the problem, and I never got a response from Corporate, they sent me right back to Highpoint to get this issue resolved. I clearly stated I was reaching out to them because the leasing office did not take it seriously, and it really angered me that they just turned me right back. Someone from corporate eventually came out to look at the noise, and to this day there has been no resolution. On top of that, I constantly heard my neighbor screaming to shut up at the noise when it happened. I even threatened to get a lawyer involved, but at this point I was just ready to move out as soon as possible. The entire stack of apartments that boarder this wall hear this, not just my floor. So, if you decide to lease a unit in the 190 building, any apartments in the 250,350,etc and 252,352, etc stack, be warned.
Airbnb/Verbo/etc stayers- is the second main reason why I decided to not renew my lease for a third year. There are many units in this building that appear on Airbnb, Verbo, and more. This summer was my breaking point with this, as people would come stay for a week/weekend, and treat this building like a hotel. This is a residence complex, not a hotel. The way people would take over the whole entire pool deck, be loud, throw footballs across the pool hitting me in the face several times, it is ridiculous. Not to mention the noise they create throughout the halls. One time, there was a guest who was running throughout the halls in his underwear with police trying to get him. I canât make this up, this is how out of hand it is getting. At this point minds well convert the building to a hotel if this is how people are going to act.
Going along with this, is the package system. The package lockers are always full or drivers do not care to utilize them, just leaving piles upon piles of packages in the main lobby corridor. This makes it easy for anyone who gets in to steal a package and easily exit since it is so close to the door. Guests who also stay in this building through those services like Airbnb also have prime opportunity to take any packages, since the area is not secure at all. I know several residents who have had their packages stolen because of them just being stacked and piled up on the ground. About a year into living here, the leasing office changed the policy that drivers had to leave packages at your unit door, so now everything gets dropped off around the main doors now.
There are about 4 other negative areas I could write about, but I will end my review on a good note. The maintenance team is always fast to respond and to repair, and even as low priority, they would fix it usually within a day or two, which was fantastic. Shoutout them for being the only good thing about...
Read moreIf youâre in the market for a nightmare living situation, look no further than this mismanaged disaster of a complex. Hereâs a sample of the chaos you can expect:
A Mailroom That Might as Well Have a âSteal Meâ Sign - Packages are routinely left outside on High Street, practically begging to be snatched up by opportunistic thieves. After multiple incidents of our deliveries disappearingâon cameraâmanagement had the nerve to blame children in the building instead of taking any accountability. Let that sink in.
Maintenance Staff from a Horror Movie - One particular team member seems to detest his own existence so fiercely that he paces around muttering threats about wanting to shoot people in the head and calling residents âidiots.â Yes, inside our own home, he made these vile comments loud and clear. We even showed management the footage, but guess what? Crickets. Apparently, your personal safety doesnât rank very high on their list of priorities.
Nonexistent âNo Smokingâ Enforcement - The complex touts a strict no-smoking policy, but itâs a total joke. Our neighbors light up several times a day on a shared patio, filling our only access to fresh air with a nauseating fog. Every window in our two-story unit is sealed shut (for reasons unknown), so we rely on the front door to breathe any semblance of fresh air. Thanks to these chain-smoking neighbors and negligent management, we canât use our own patio or keep our front door open without feeling suffocated.
Sketchy and Filthy Grounds - As if the constant smell of smoke wasnât enough, the area by the dumpsters is a nightly carnival of questionable characters openly smoking and engaging in what looks suspiciously like drug deals. Feel free to revel in that comforting ambiance every time you take out the trashâor run in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, the garbage area is so poorly kept that itâs crawling with rats, adding a final flourish of health hazard to this bleak picture.
Outrageous Pricing for Zero Peace of Mind - For all these âamenitiesââunsecured mail, unresponsive staff, a threatening maintenance worker, and non-stop smoke infiltrationâyouâll pay a premium. Management clearly couldnât care less about your concerns or your safety, yet theyâll happily charge an arm and a leg for the privilege of ignoring you.
In short, this complex is an overpriced, poorly secured, rodent-infested messâcomplete with a side of menacing staff behaviorâtopped off by managementâs shrugging indifference. If you value your sanity (and your safety),...
