Hank's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Columbus

I honestly would leave 0 stars if I could. This establishment is very unprofessional, hypocritical, and just blatantly bad.

My family and I came here for lunch since it’s a new restaurant in the area. I am very understanding person (having worked several years in the food industry) when it comes to a rush. However, our server was not attentive and dismissive. I am not one to eye you down nor make a scene but when my glass has been empty for a while or I haven’t seen my server in 20+ minutes… I start to become irritable. Once our food comes out, I unfortunately found a bobby pin in the appetizer I ordered. The server was nice and took the appetizer off. I honestly wasn’t too upset just disappointed that this new place was already off to such a bad start.

A family member that was eating with us decided to make a review about the quality of the food. We were trying to give constructive criticism seeing as this place has so much potential. They questioned and mocked the fact that there was a bobby pin found. It may be one thing to find a hair (disgusting) but a bobby pin??? That is a choking hazard and your waitresses and kitchen staff should be aware. Instead, they commented back insisting we send proof that this even occurred. Since then they have hidden the original review.

If I had to say something positive, their fries were good. Other than that, everything else was Terrible. First off, their menu is plain and includes stuff better elsewhere for the price. Scruffys was better at this location. Sign at the front says wait to be seated and we got flagged in from the back. Went to order drinks and they didn't have basic ingredients. No Silverware or napkins brought to our table. Ordered fish n chips and the yardbird. The fish was not seasoned and plain. The chicken sandwich which was fried also had no seasoning and was the chewiest piece of chicken I've ever eaten, so much so I thought it would make the rubber chicken sound. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it, and everyone who knows me knows I don't let anything go to waste. Someone even came out at one point and announced all the things they had and didn't have including certain oysters one ribeye left and this was after 2pm mind you. Even when we asked for things it felt like it was a nuisance for us to ask.. but we still left a tip and now this review. Needless to say this is the first and last time we eat here. Oh yeah they also have a salad bar for 12 bucks which was more like a salad table...I had more salad on...

Me and my family don’t eat out often but when we do our expectations are at a certain level and here at Hank’s they were not met on any level whatsoever. When we first walked in the sign said wait to be seated and it took them 10 minutes to seat us and they weren’t even busy. We ordered the oysters for me and my wife and chips and salsa for the kids. Oysters were burnt and the chips were stale and cold and the salsa tasted like it was out of the can. I ordered the wings and they were the most “mid”(plain) wings I’ve ever had. I ordered hot flavor and they gave me wimp(not hot at all) flavored. We didn’t get any refills on our drinks and we had no napkins at all. Our food came out at separate times. They got my son’s order wrong and he got his food last out of all of us. They gave us another order of oysters after they burnt the heck out of the first dozen and those had no flavor to it. I asked the waiter was it new and she said “yea we’ve been open since January” and I’m like yall been open since January yall should have it together by now.
