My husband and I placed a catering order ~2 weeks prior to our small, casual wedding on 11-12-22, and initially the order was canceled without reason. After calling the restaurant, we were advised that they don't know why it was canceled, but that we should place the order again and it wouldn't be canceled this time.
We placed the order a second time, and even though we selected 5pm as the delivery time, the order confirmation said delivery would be at 6pm. We called the restaurant again and asked if they could make a note in their system saying that we would like the order delivered as close to 5pm as possible. A note was made and we didn't give it any further thought.
That is, until the day of the wedding arrived. 5pm rolls around and there's no food delivery. 5:30pm comes and goes and now we're worried, but it's fine; it snowed earlier in the day, and maybe the driver was being cautious or traffic was backed up. We had some activities planned for after dinner that we decided to do before dinner, to distract our hungry guests from how hungry they were. After all, P.F. Chang's said our catering order would arrive as close to 5pm as possible, and that's when we told our guests that dinner would be.
At 6pm, we were done making excuses for why the food could be this late. We'd been waiting an hour and guests were starting to tear into the dessert table. I don't blame them, but also, where on Earth was our catering order?? We called the Dublin P.F. Chang's and were told that our order was on its way. It arrived 15 minutes later, at 6:15pm, an hour and fifteen minutes after we were expecting it. We requested wire racks and sterno when we placed the order, to help keep the food warm and to make the buffet look a bit more put together. Surprise! We didn't get any wire racks or sterno. At that point, we were all hungry and we were trying not to get too upset that the meal we selected for our wedding was an hour and fifteen minutes late. In that moment, missing wire racks and sterno was a problem but it wasn't our biggest problem.
As for the actual food? At least two of the foil pans leaked in transit. Picture a bride and groom in light-colored formal clothing, trying to set up trays of food that were leaking and dripping. Less than ideal, but still not as bad as our guests having to wait over an hour for the meal that was promised to them. The food was tasty and relatively warm when it arrived, but it didn't stay warm for long and that's where the wire racks and sterno really would have helped.
Our guests were gracious and said that the food was great, and I'm inclined to agree with them. But something went massively wrong on the restaurant's end. I've learned that P.F. Chang's is not dependable for catering orders, at least not at this location. I hope improvements can be made so that other customers won't be as disappointed as we were. We chose P.F. Chang's for our casual wedding because we knew the food was good and it would be several steps up from, say, a Chinese takeout restaurant. In hindsight, at least a Chinese takeout restaurant would have delivered their food in a timely manner. I wanted to give a higher rating than one-star because the food was fine, but I subtracted a star for each of the following: the frustrating ordering process (having to place the same order twice and needing to follow up about the delivery time being incorrectly listed), the food trays leaking, no wire racks or sterno despite requesting them, and the catering order arriving an hour and fifteen...
Read moreI can't put my finger on it but I didn't enjoy my experience here as much as most PFchangs. After writing the review- now- I realize it's clear why... overall we didn't enjoy the experience although some of the food was amazing!
Service was just ok....
Food was awesome to not warm enough.
We got the shrimp dumplings as an appetizer and they were amazing.. the presentation, the temperature, and flavor were all amazing! In fact, they present them better then any other pfchangs I have been to so the start was great.
Diet Coke was flat and I requested a new one. They had no other to give me as the issue is a week long and still not fixed but there was lemonade as a backup. Anyway, I am a Diet Coke person that loves it with anything salty so this was hugely disappointing. And a known issue that long in a major chain restaurant is a bit crazy but these are the times.
My husband's Korean glass noodles were hot and really flavorful and he loved them.
My kiddos meal was also quite good- chicken fried rice with an awesome little side of fruit... and some broccoli- i LOVE a restaurant that has healthy kids meal options!! Good going!
I got the Mongolian beef and chicken with a side of sauce. My dish was barely warm and theirs were hot so I am assuming mine was finished first. Waiter wasn't around much (and I was sick of bothering the bartender- she was very friendly and helpful)) so I decided we'd just eat it as leftovers and I would try that apple pie dessert that looked great...big mistake as we were ready to leave when we ordered the dessert thinking it'd be a quick sweet treat for us to split.... it took over 20 minutes to get the dessert... Argh!!! Apple pie dessert- skip it... no where near as good as the description.
Oh and when they brought the bill the 4$ for the Diet Coke was still on there (flat one they knowingly served me.... such a hassle to ask slow moving service to fix)
I would never return to this PFchangs but The flavors are on point just like all the other ones....
This one...
Read moreWe did 4 stars because the service was absolutely wonderful. We went to eat in the restaurant on Monday 01/18/2021 and had BRYCE as a server and we were absolutely impressed with his attentiveness and friendliness especially to our 18 month old son!!! We called the restaurant to make sure that it wasn't too busy before we got there because we do live 30 minutes away from P.F. Chang's! When I called the Host(Not sure his name) was extremely friendly and asked me if I wanted to do a reservation just in case so we made a reservation! he answered the phone fast and was extremely friendly which I do appreciate and it was a great first impression on the restaurant!!! My teenage son ordered the honey chicken with fried rice and didn't like it at all because of how dry it was but for some odd reason it was soggy as well as dry which was really strange to us! I also ordered the honey chicken and felt the same way about it and our 18-month-old also had the honey chicken on the kids menu with fresh fruit and thank goodness that they brought the fresh fruit because that was the only thing he was willing to eat! The honey chicken on the kids menu was just dull and didn't have any taste to it at all it just tasted like fried chicken which is not what we wanted at a Chinese restaurant! Fruit was extremely fresh I ended up asking for another bowl of fruit because it was the only thing he liked and was willing to eat! My husband ordered the Kung Pao chicken which he said was okay but not as great as he was expecting. We all ordered the chicken lettuce wraps as our appetizer and really enjoyed it! There's absolutely nothing that we have to complain about the chicken lettuce wraps they were amazing and would go back just to order those again but probably wouldn't chance ordering anything else! We did 4 stars because of the lettuce wraps and the server BRYCE who made it worth us being there for dinner! Thank you so much and have a great 2021...
