Seafood Shake Boil - Easton — Restaurant in Columbus

If I could leave a -1 rating I would. I almost never write reviews, but this experience deserved one.

My husband, children and mother in law decided to visit your establishment for Father’s Day and were excited to try you all out. The waitress was nice enough for a period of time, until she messed up a drink order. My family all ordered drinks. I asked for a virgin Pina Colada and my mother in law asked for a virgin Strawberry Daiquiri. When my mother in law received her drink it had alcohol in it. She asked the waitress if this was indeed a virgin, as she does not drink alcohol and the young lady said no. My mother-in-law asked the young lady to have it made over and said she would see what she could do, but wasn’t sure if she could take it off because she wasn’t told that it should be a virgin. My mother in law clearly said a virgin, but it is possible that maybe the young lady missed that (we are all human after all).

The waitress came back and said that she could have it changed, but we would still be charged for the one with alcohol and the non-alcoholic one because she didn’t know it was supposed to be a virgin. She was told at the time of the order that it should be a virgin and she said oh that must’ve been my mistake. The next thing we know there’s a different lady coming with the virgin drink. I specifically asked her if the alcoholic drink was going to be removed because we clearly ordered a non-alcoholic version and that was specified at the time of ordering. She said okay, she would let the manager know. She proceeded to come back and said the manager said she can take a look at the camera to see if we told the waitress and it was reiterated that the cameras were just above us so they would be able to see if she was actually told this!!!

This had to be the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, when it was the waitress that made the mistake. I was really appalled that the insinuation and tone was as if we were lying. We told them we were fine with her checking the camera because my mother-in-law indeed did say that she wanted a virgin, but we thought this was ridiculous for such a minor error on the part of the waitress, and yet we were being made out to be liars. We said go ahead and check the cameras and because of this poor service over a simple mistake on the part of the waitress that could have easily been fixed, we also decided at that time to cancel our food orders because this was just really horrible customer service. Instead of management fixing a $10 issue the business lost out of not only over $120 in food orders from us, but also lost five new customers and any potential friends/business partners that we would have potentially recommended.

My husband and I own local businesses, and if you or your staff make a mistake, that is okay, you own the mistake and fix it. We decided to pay for the drinks that we ordered and requested alcoholic beverage be refunded, because it wasn’t what we asked for. After all this debate we were told that alcoholic beverage would be when we got the receipt we were charged for that drink and they took off the virgin daiquiri.

I truly hope that you speak with your staff to correct this type of behavior, this experience definitely made us never want to return to the establishment or recommend this location to friends, family, or patrons of our...

The only nice thing I can add about this place has to be atmosphere, but the service and food was so bad I had to set a reminder for myself to make sure and rate it 1 star on my next day off.

Maybe it was because it was the grand opening, and closer to the end of the day (7:30 arrival), but the only “tasty” food they had were the pork egg roll and crab ragoons, and my kids French fries.

My wife and I had “seafood by the pound” and I ordered the “headless and peeled shrimp” that most definitely was not a pound of shrimp, there was only 8 pieces in it (yes, I counted solely for the fact there was barely in there), the chicken and kielbasa sausage were so dry it was nearly impossible to finish eating, in fact - I didn’t finish it. The only thing I finished fully was my snow crab the rest went straight to the garbage. I’m ex-military who’s used to eating MREs, and as a youth spent a couple months struggling with homelessness eating stale bread that could dent a metal can and questionable leftovers.

I would blame it on the fact I’ve had a real Cajun boil before, but even the place near Fort Bragg, NC was literal heaven in your mouth. I had such high expectations for this place with it being highly rated from less than 100 reviews.

That’s just the food complaints, other than that the waitress who was overseeing our table was nice, but after requesting (and apologizing) for us needing to take a few minutes to order, she seemed annoyed. We stayed until the kitchen closed mainly to give me time to swallow the overcooked food, and it wasn’t super busy at the time so not like we were taking one of her tables. But for the time my family was there, it took asking her 2ce for a refill and then waiting 15 minutes just to receive our drinks.

Then before we left, we ordered a few frozen drinks, after jokingly saying to my wife “this is going to be this places saving grace, if these drinks are bad I’ll never recommend this place to anyone”

Can’t remember the exact drinks of everyone but my “mocha” tasted like frozen chocolate milk, and my wife’s “flavored” frozen lemonade had 0 flavoring in it, then my 3 year old daughter dropped her drink in our carpeted SUV and the bottom completely fell out, when I went back in I asked very nicely if she could have a new cup and explained what happened, she said that wouldn’t be a problem but instead of giving me a fresh cup, she “double cupped” and when I reassured her I meant a new cup, she had an attitude and just poured the 1/5th of what she had left after it leaking all the way to the door (which I covered with my hands to prevent leaking in the restaurant) she said she’s not going to make another one even though my daughter didn’t even get to actually drink any of hers. She wouldn’t even let me pay for a new one.

This was AFTER I had a bad experience already, overpaid for nearly every detail of the restaurant being low par, AND after tipping the already rude waitress $50 hoping maybe it’ll make her outlook for that day a little better.

If the food is bad but service is good, so what.. I just won’t eat there anymore.

I’m sharing this review on behalf of my parents who visited the Easton location for their anniversary. They said they had terrible experience from the very beginning. First of all they short changed my dad and only gave him back $8 saying they didn’t have any change to give him! What are you actually talking about?! That is not how you run a business at all! If someone owes you change, then they need their full change back! Not just the dollars because you don’t have the change, or don’t want to give back the change. What I suspect is that those young girls working there are pocketing the extra money at the end of the night. Second incident was when they got home and my mom received the shake bag with crab legs, shrimp, broccoli, corn, egg and potato. Upon the first bite she was absolutely disgusted and said it was nasty! It also was not the heat level she expected because she said medium, and it was very spicy. If it was too spicy for her,someone who loves some heat then it was too spicy! Then the 1 egg,1 potato, and 1 corn that was suppose to receive was missing. She only got 2 shrimp a couple pieces of crab legs and the rest of the bag was soggy broccoli! She didn’t eat any of it needless to say,despite the first bite. She called back up there to discuss her dissatisfaction with the meal and the manager Samantha was very rude and unapologetic. After a lot of back and forth she asked well if you come back in we will give you a piece of corn, a potato and a boiled egg. My mother said absolutely not and I would just like a refund. When will you be there tomorrow? She said not in the morning. She repeated the question and Samantha finally said at 5 with a nasty attitude. The next day my mother went in there promptly at 5pm and waited around for 10-20 minutes as it seemed the workers were stalling to produce Samantha, saying she was “running late”. Finally my mother said enough of this, I just want my refund. The other manager present said “Oh, I thought you were bringing Samantha her lunch.” As she came in with the non eaten shake bag, that was requested by Samantha to bring in. After another debate about how you only get one corn,potato and egg( which I will reiterate she DID NOT RECEIVE IN THE FIRST PLACE)!! The young girl said she would refund her money. When asked why the full amount of change was not given to her husband (my dad) the first time around, they stated the only change we don’t give back is Pennie’s! Again who doesn’t give back change, no matter if it’s Pennie’s,quarters or a dime, Come to find out after this whole conversation, that this girl was Samantha’s boss making her the General manager. When she gave my mom the refund back, it was again just bills $23 and no change! This place is nasty work and I recommend nobody ever stepping food inside...
