JoJo's Shake Bar - Orlando — Restaurant in Dr. Phillips

I am extremely disappointed in this place. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday last week. We got seated pretty fast, as it was not busy at all, and then sat for a while before being checked on. When the waitress came, she got our order and left. We got a milkshake and a hot chocolate. The order actually came out pretty fast which was nice. The product was mediocre and not worth the price. THEN, is when it took a turn for the worst. After finishing our drinks, we waited 15-20 minutes before finally stopping someone for our check because we had not been checked on once and had been finished for a while. Finally got the check (which includes a 18% gratuity on it automatically). I had my card waiting for it to be taken for a while and nobody came, so I finally put my card away and decided to leave cash so we could just leave. The total was $26 and some change, so I left 26 dollars in cash, and then some quarters to cover the change side of it as well as a few extra dollars for an additional tip on top of the 18% already taken out. We left, and halfway down the sidewalk, our server comes running yelling through groups of people at us that we did not pay our full bill. Even stating "your bill is 45 dollars and you only paid half of it". I stopped and turned around and told her no I did not, my bill was only 26 and some change, and she argued until I grabbed the receipt and showed her. She then said " no I know its only $26, I just was looking at the wrong table on the tablet" so I asked if we are good to go then. She then says "no because you still didn't pay enough because you left some change and we don't take change, only cash and card, so you're gonna have to give me more cash. To which I said I did not see that listed anywhere and was not told that, to which she got very snappy and attitude about how I didn't let her close out the transaction before leaving so she could tell me, so its my fault and I need to give her more cash. Maybe if you didn't have us sitting there waiting and waiting, we wouldn't have needed to leave cash so we could leave, and then could have given you time to cash it out. Overall, drinks were overpriced, horrible service, they sneak in an 18% gratuity, don't take change so that you have to pay more than your bill amount, have rude staff, and seems like all the company cares about is MONEY as they cared so much to chase a customer down, be rude, yell, and be snappy, just over a few cents which they technically had more than the total, just some in change. If that's the kind of place you enjoy, this is the place for you, otherwise, stay...

Absolutely adored this place! When we first walked in, we were greeted by a nice young man and seated quickly. He asked if we were okay to be seated at a High Table, which is nice because some people may not be comfortable with that. Us, not a problem. Our server’s name was Kenzie and she was awesome! She asked if we had been there before and since this was our first visit, we said no. She gave us the details of how ordering works and the overall atmosphere and theme of the restaurant was. It’s 80’s/90’s themed with lots of cool colors that was the perfect mix of the 80’s & 90’s. I ordered the Cotton Candy Martini and I highly recommend it! Super tasty and the way the cotton candy dissolved in the martini was like magic. We were also provided our own ice water glass bottle with glasses so we had plenty of water and refills available. We ordered the Mozzarella Sticks and they were brought out promptly. They are served with a good marinara sauce. Next, our food came out at a great pace. Just the right amount of time to finish our appetizer. I ordered the Ruben and my husband ordered the Smash Burger. These dishes do not come with a side, so you’ll have to order that separately. I ordered the coleslaw and my husband ordered the waffle fries. Despite having to order them separately, they give you a good portion and well worth money. For me, the coleslaw was ok. It’s a creamy based and needed maybe just a hint of sugar added but, that’s just my personal preference. My Ruben was excellent and you get a good sized sandwich. Great amount of Pastrami and Sauerkraut with plenty of thousand island. My husband really liked his smash burger and said it was very juicy and had wonderful flavors. Our server, Kenzie was very attentive and made sure to check in with us throughout our visit. When asked for boxes to take home, she got them to us quickly with a bag to put them in for easy carry. They do add a 18% service charge and she definitely earned that and then some. If you have read some of my previous reviews, you’ll read not all servers work like they care when that is included and I’m telling ya’ll, Kenzie was amazing! We didn’t order any milkshakes but what I watched leaving the milkshake bar was incredible! They looked like pieces of art, so we will be back to try those out.
