If I could give Lonzo’s more than five stars, I would give them the whole Milky Way. This is not just a restaurant—it is a warm hug, a homecoming, and a life-changing experience all rolled into one plate of Peruvian perfection. The moment you walk in, you feel like family. The air smells like comfort itself, the kind of aroma that tells you someone in the kitchen has been cooking with love, not just skill. Lonzo’s doesn’t need social media—word of mouth is their social media, and the mouths talking are always full of delicious food.
The food here is beyond phenomenal. Every bite feels like a direct flight to Lima, except you don’t have to deal with TSA. The lomo saltado is so tender, so flavorful, so perfectly seasoned, it might just be the eighth wonder of the world. The arroz chaufa dances between savory and satisfying in a way that makes you wonder if the chef has some sort of magical seasoning wand. Even the side dishes taste like they’ve been crafted by culinary gods who only work with the freshest ingredients.
The people behind Lonzo’s are the real secret ingredient. This mom-and-pop team radiates kindness, warmth, and pride in everything they do. They know regulars by name, they recommend dishes like they’re sharing family heirlooms, and they make every single customer feel like the most important guest in the world. This isn’t fake hospitality—it’s genuine care that you can taste in every forkful.
The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and overflowing with charm. You’re not eating in some sterile, Instagram-trendy spot—you’re eating somewhere that feels alive, where the walls could probably tell stories of thousands of happy meals shared. Lonzo’s has no interest in being flashy because their food is the flash. Every plate that comes out of that kitchen shines brighter than any influencer’s camera filter ever could.
Lonzo’s Peruvian Food is the kind of place you want to keep all to yourself, but you also can’t stop telling people about. They deserve to be packed every single night, not because they have some marketing team, but because they’ve mastered the only kind of advertising that matters: cooking food so good it stays in people’s memories forever. If you haven’t been to Lonzo’s yet, go tonight. If you have been, you’re probably already planning your next visit. Five stars doesn’t even come close to what...
Read moreA small bakery converted into a restaurant with outdoor eating that serves Peruvian recipes from the heart. The eating area is extremely limited and does get packed. I would recommend calling ahead for reservations. If you come with hopes of consuming alcohol-you won't find a Pisco Sour or a sip of alcohol on the menu here so BYOB -it's allowed. It was a great find to come across something like this in West LA.
The menu consists of your average Peruvian cuisine found in The USA. From Lomo Saltado (one of the best I've tried) to Ceviche (they forgot to bring my order so I didn't get to try) and all the good stuff between with an average price of $20.
The grilled Spanish Octopus had great presentation but I wouldn't order again. The Swai tiradito pieces were extremely small, but once again the presentation was amazing. Im not a fan of the swai and believe they should switch back to kampachi. The lobster causa was also very good.
As I said, the place gets extremely crowded at dinner time and I do not feel that my table received the proper attention. Some of the order was forgotten and every time that I needed something, I had to personally flag down our waitress. I do not blame her as she was hustling between the tables and in and out of the kitchen like crazy. My advice to management would get someone to help her. My table wanted to and would have ordered much more food if we hadn't waited 20 minutes to be checked up on. Some of my party left hungry because we no longer had...
Read moreThe girlfriend and I planned to have a late night dinner at Lonzo tonight. We finished our tasks in the area and planned our schedule accordingly as we knew they would close at 10pm. We arrived at 9:17pm, 43 minutes, or 2,580 seconds before they were set to close as they publicly display on numerous sites as well as their front door. There was no party waiting, at all before we arrived. The tables were all full with customers in this very small establishment. So, we stood at the doorway ignored for a few minutes, which gave me the time to notice their "B" rating hanging up. That was slightly a turn off, but nothing to really stress over. I just figure it's more flavor in food from not washing out a few pans here and there. I don't think my girlfriend even noticed as I purposely guided her into the doorway to avoid the ratings line of sight. The young girl finally acknowledged our presence after I greeted her first. That's a complete mistake from a business perspective imo, especially since you saw us waiting at your door. I couldn't utter another word before she spoke - as she looked completely bothered. She literally looked at me as if I had already left this 1 star review on Yelp. It was around 9:23pm at this point. She said "The thing is, we don't have any room, all the tables are full and we'll be closing...
