Me and three friends bought tickets for the State Fair of Texas themed photo pop-up "Fair Play" at the Statler ballroom and were extremely disappointed by everything. The pop-up displays and installations looked great but the Statler is a trash hotel. My husband and I were stopped by an employee and told that we couldn't use our camera at a photography event, which is absurd. The Statler has a no camera policy, so why host a pop-up event at all? Meanwhile, two nearby white women with a camera were not stopped or told anything. The State Fair food was offensively tragic. Complete waste of money. I used valet and was told it would cost $10 (the valet even wrote $10 on my ticket). When I picked my car up, they tried to charge me $15. There are better hotels, better events, better food, better energy in Dallas. Stay away from...
