la Madeleine — Restaurant in Dallas

This new la Madeleine is a slightly different concept than the traditional restaurants for this restaurant group. It is a petite that is very in-tune with the very urban residential and tourist lifestyles in this area with a vast selection of to-go food and drink options while also being in-tune with the surrounding business district workers that will be frequent this restaurant.

This la Madeleine Petite manages to do this while never forgetting its French inspired roots. This their Dallas flagship location and was by far my favorite location anywhere within the city. However, as of about March of this year, evidently all of their staff was abruptly replaced with that of people far too inept and negligent to supersede that of their predecessors.

The "manager" quite literally cannot comprehend nor reply to any questions and relegated to immediately putting me back on hold for over 7 minutes when we spoke for less than 2-hoping I'd hang up so she didn't have to deal with my questions/issues. Correct me if I'm out of line but that is in the job description, isn't it?

Absolutely horrible ordering experience… was so bad I thought about leaving but I’ve heard great things and wanted to try this for lunch. It smelled amazing but the front lady (no name tag, had glasses, and a brown bob with blonde/caramel highlights, 40-50s) was so rude- didn’t listen to our orders, said they didn’t have things they clearly had, wouldn’t reply to questions such as “what are the sides” and just point sassily to the menu above and remain silent, when asked what type of bread options she just said “there aren’t options, there’s either bread or no bread”- overall terrible front ordering lady.
